As discussed in my forsale thread, here is a sample set from my buddy's Brett's piece "Lacunae".

[s]http://soundcloud.com/aleph_null/lacunae-02-lacunae[/s]

A lacunae is "an unfilled interval; a gap." I learned the term from acting Shakespeare, where the lacunae gives you a performance tip; if the printed line (in the Quarto or Folio source, as god intended) is, say, only 2 iambs out of the expected 5, then you know as an actor to insert a 3-iambic pause for dramatic effect. This rule never fails, by the way. Billy Shakes, dude knew his shit. Anyway, These samples are lacunae in two ways. First, they are incidental noises from a recording session in an anechoic chamber. The actual content of the session is not in my possession or on Brett's hard drives; these samples are all from the gaps. Similarly, this sample set is an intermediate set, partially processed, filling a production gap between pure raw material and final track. Some of the hits and noises are untouched; some other ones were clearly manipulated to get to the finished piece above. Or at least that's how I hear it.

51 samples of spoons, metal bowls, shuffling paper, microphones being bumped, and other incidental noise; an MPC program file with those loaded in rough numerical order; and 12 related drum samples, source unknown. Provided to Wigglers and released under Creative Commons license in Brett's name. Derivative works are allowed/actively encouraged, for free or commercial use, but as I understand it this license means you gotta give him credit. That's what I want to happen, anyway, so have at it.

I can't seem to make this bit below show up as HTML no matter how I set my profile; I think I broke it with an Adblock or NoFlash plugin. But you get the gist.

This sounds like an awesome sample set. Thanks for making this available. Just ate a big meal so I'm stuck on the iPad immobilized for now, but as so as I muster the energy, I'm all over this.

Zipfile is the attachment to the top post in the thread. Can't you see it? iPad user or some kind of browser plug-in keeping you from seeing it maybe?

oops, I was not logged in until I replied. Thanks for this!

I have often wanted some kitchen sounds but my apartment is too noisy to sample in.
