I've been flipping between the modular world and the computer world...modular is usually wild wooly improv on a long-designed patch, and computer is usually "production" IE programming beats, songs, synths, samples, arranging, etc. in a DAW.
And never the twain shall meet.
Until now. I'd like to bring these worlds together, somehow...some of the wooly character of my modular to my sterile computer land, and some of the planned and arranged strengths of a computer to modular land...and I'd like to be able to "perform" it live, in front of an audience.
I've been using live a bit, and have an inkling it could be a sort of "brain" for this, processing audio, sending out CV, triggering bits, doing beats and samples, triggered and controlled by me and maybe some modular feedback.
Does that sound feasible, does that sound workable, has anybody done anything like that (surely...)??!!
Any of you wise muffuler inputs would be much appreciated.. _________________ http://www.bluxomepoint.com

I used to do exactly that, Live running on a laptop with a Motu Traveler for audio and CV in and out and a Launchpad running some clocking stuff I'd made in Max4Live. A really great combination but one I'm no longer using due to getting an Octatrack. It's a great combo, you'll love it. _________________ FS (AUS Melb): MW Modularworld case, 104HP Happy Ending Kit, A156, KP3 |

I've been using Ableton Live with my frac system in exactly the way you describe for live performance. The two work very nicely together for improvising around loose arrangements. |

Why does melbourne seem to house such wisdom? I've heard San Francisco is the Melbourne of California... _________________ http://www.bluxomepoint.com
