hihi

Journeyman would be a man who travels. You could call him a traveller.

In this he would pre-date the 10 and the 20. But oddly not the 50 which is the last of the diode rings.

I should say that the Journeyman is neither the 7XX or the 50 but a cunning mixture of all of them and then some.

But it isn't the optical based ones which were the first.

Follow me?

I thought this filter was based on the MiniKorg or MaxiKorg, a synth Vangelis used it a lot.

The unique filter section of the MiniKorg is called "Traveler", it had independent frequency controls for the highpass filter (fader on top) and lowpass filter (on bottom) The lowpass had a metal tab that mechanically kept you from turning the highpass frequency lower than the Lowpass, I guess Korg hated notch filtering or it was too easy to make no sound.

Most people would file off the metal tab to get all the filter goodness.

I guess you'd have to buy two to get the bandpass effect.

It's worth noting that if you want more information about any Oakley module the place to go is the my main site:

http://www.oakleysound.com/

The User Manuals are on there as well as photos, sound samples and the Building Guides for those that DIY.

One of these days I'll modernise the site to ease navigation and stop it looking so 1995. Maybe...

Agreed/seconded. I miss when websites were as easily navigated as yours (oakley) is!

Good call. It can stay simple and mobile-friendly and not look like the first dotcom bubble is still happily inflated. When I see sites that old-school I wonder if the company is still in business.

Actually, even if it's clear that the company is still in business it makes me wonder if the company has come out with anything new since 1995.
