Have heard some good and not so good things about a number of quantizing modules so want to ask about Moon for those that have them.

What is the diff between the v2 vs. v3 565 quad module? (is it just the type of "E" or "D" controller that can be added on?

Any general impressions or known problems?

Finally, what is your favorite quant module? (Euro is ok also as I anticipate having a small row of these).

Thank you.

V3 is definitely the way you want to go. In addition to being able to use the new controller, it also processes bipolar voltages instead of only positive, which is a major upgrade.

Incidentally, if anyone is prefers the 565E switch-style controller, I will be selling mine as soon as my v3 upgrade arrives. Feel free to drop me a PM if you'd like a used one.

The known issues with the 565 were resolved with the last revision of the v2. It seems to work splendidly now. With the added functionality of the 567 Universal Programmer, the 565 is in a league of its own now. Stepping through scale changes is a powerful sequencing tool. Whether or not those features appeal to you would depend on your use.

Cheers,
Brian

Brian: Will the 565e controller still work with the version 3 updated 565? I would like to get a second 565d controller and use it with the 565e connected to the version 3 at the same time.

Hi there - the V3 does support both 565E and 565D including a combination of both. Switches won't toggle automatically, though ;-)
