What kind of audio interfaces are you using with Reaper?
I was using a Mbox 2 for a while but I sold it to buy something with more inputs, but I wanted to know what kind of audio interfaces users were using with Reaper?
Thanks. |

RME Fireface 400, works great.
I'll often record between 2 and twelve mono tracks simultaneously @ 24/44.1. _________________ new terminal sound system 2xlp/cd/digital out now | soundcloud / antisound.net | my modular

| I use an Edirol UA-25, 2-input, USB2. But then I'm not really doing complex multi-channel stuff. One mono or two stereo-separated tracks at a time for me is fine. Been using Reaper for maybe 4 years now. |

RME Multiface and also a Roland RPC card from my VS-2480. (Saves all that dinking around with CD-ROMs.) _________________ Society for the Performance of Twentieth Century Program Notes. |

Recently decided to use Reaper instead of Pro Tools and am digging it quite a bit. Mixing inside of Reaper is a lot nicer than mixing in Ableton, at least for me.
Currently using a shitty Mbox 2 - its slowly dying, so time to upgrade. Really thinking about getting something RME as they seem to be well loved. _________________ Tundra Dubs |

I'm using Reaper, a laptop, an Edirol FA-101, a Doepfer A-100 and nothing else to make some of my music. It's not very polished, and I don't really know my way around Reaper very well yet (looks like a hacker wrote it...), but I guess that all adds to the fun, rough aesthetic. :)
I'd certainly recommend the FA-101 if your main concern is a lack of inputs! _________________ http://zoeblade.bandcamp.com/ |

I use Reaper with an Edirol FA-101 and a Motu 828 MkII, on different machines, in different locations. Both work well. Reaper is wonderful. Wish I had more time to play with it and the modular. _________________ Eschew obfuscation! |

| I use an Alesis IO26, never tried recording 8 channels at once ... but that is more due to having it attached to a computer that is already 9 years old. the plan is to buy a new computer somewhere this year. Recording happens at 24bit/44.1kHz |

Also, now using Reaper with Mackie Onyx 1640i via firewire, works fine. _________________ new terminal sound system 2xlp/cd/digital out now | soundcloud / antisound.net | my modular

i use a focusrite saffire 10io at home and it works great. for my laptop I use a zoom r16 or a m-audio box ( can't recall name right now) and it great ( all win 7). at work it gets used with a protools hdx interface on a mac and it's rock solid. I've used up to 10 io and it hasn't hiccupped. _________________ my bands: THINGS OUTSIDE THE SKIN / Tongue Muzzle / The Qualia / Controlled Bleeding / the label: Facility Records / community: DarkSonus / my site: Chvad

I use Reaper with a Sound Devices USBPre2, both work flawlessly with my Mac laptop (worked great with my old XP system before that.) _________________ Soundcloud |

I use mostly Reaper these days. I love it to pieces but I keep the user manual pdf open on an adjacent PC at all times, as well as several user forum tabs open
I've been using a motu 896 mk3 and it does its job. It's a little cheap and something new is often breaking, but it records from all 8 preamps quite faithfully! _________________ (ignatius) "it's like Point Break meets Schindler's List"

Now I'm trying to find out the best way to use Reaper with a Creamware Pulsar 2 ... hopefully without having to drop the IO26 (because that one can be used as a preconfigured mixer when not using a computer).
For the Pulsar I bought the software upgrade (Scope PCI 5.1 for having Windows 7 compatibility) which also contains a modular or 2
Given extra memory, a faster processor, a SSD bootdisk and the Pulsars 6 DPSs I hope not to have to buy a new computer in the near future. And I still forget the UAD-1, bought together with the Pulsar and its Lune breakout box. |

Spent many a year using Acid Pro, Sonar, Cubase etc... Really got fed up with them, Acid was the least complicated one of the lot but was really clunky. Last year I thought I'd try Reaper and haven't used anything else since. Really wish I'd found it earlier.
I use an Alesis Multimix 8 USB 2.0 (With W7 PC).
Really very happy with it. Record 8 channels at once without breaking the bank. And dead easy to just bung in a bag with my laptop to take out to record the band etc.
Great bit of kit. |
