Fresh meat, just joined today. I wanted my first thread to be devoted to one of my favorite artists; Eliane Radigue. Her earlier work is enriched in harmonics. I don't know what it is that is so compelling about her work. She inspired me to invest in modular synthesis. Is anyone else by Eliane with regards their modular units? I'd love to hear some examples.

I've been waiting and waiting for Adnos 1-3 to be re-released but no joy so far..Love her work, but it's too easy to create something that ends up a pastiche of it. |

I love her much as well. Saw a live version of one of her acoustic pieces
last year. I think there is another thread around here about her somewhere.
Have you seen that amazing 30 min DVD doc of her work? I think it's on
vimeo but I bought a nice DVD from some small label... _________________ Did you expect to see your blog here? See: 'I can't find my blog on the Web, where is it?'

Love love love Eliane. A true master of the 2500.

She has a strong following here. Great stuff. Gutted I was out of the country when there was the retrospective in London. Saw her play with The Lappetites on the GRM diffusion system a few years ago, was fantastic. _________________ Thonk - Modular Synth DIY

I love her work. Being an ARP 2500 owner (before a house purchase ruined that!) I was interested from that point of view. What I like is that how she uses it is very different to how I or others have. It shows that they are just tools and it's all in the controllers hands. _________________ www.davidmorley.com

Cebec: Lovely work, cebec. Was this done with your unit?
Morley: What was it like owning it? That filter, the 1070 is it? Incredible filters. Would you be able to identify how she is using the machine, in your experience with it? |

It was great! I had 2 at one point and my main one was a main cabinet and 2 wings. Superb sounding system. Funky and light but could also be big and dark. Much more interesting modules than say an equivalent Moog.
The multimode filter is excellent. 1047. Very sweet sound.
Alas, they became to expensive for me to justify keeping when I bought my house. That and my 1970's Buchla 200 went.
Lovely synths.
I get the feeling she was not keyboard based and set up relatively simple patches but carefully. She seems to really listen into the sound and find the subtleties. Very intense I think. _________________ www.davidmorley.com
