Have you bought bear spray yet?

A lot of tourists don't know that you can get it from just about any shop, and it decreases your chance of drop bear attack.

I'm not a tourist.

And as a Canadian I can tell you that I'm not afraid of bears ;)

Besides, I've always preferred proper SSL to dropbear!

(hope to see you on Wednesday!)

Do toilets really spin the opposite direction down there? Always been curious, never been south of the equator.

Not just toilets, any water that runs down a drain. Yes it's true anywhere south of the equator.

A fun game is to find a spot directly upon the equator where the water doesn't spiral at all, just flows straight down.

Fuck I travel a lot.

For straight down the drain I think you're referring to the south pole. A little known fact is that's how Scott and Amundsen knew when they'd arrived at the pole.

Guinness ftw!

I know people who'd kill to trade places with you. The part they don't get: it's work, not tourism.

You must have more stamina than I do, jetlag would kill me quickly. Christ, it's like a 14-hour flight to Sydney from here.

To get to Sydney i take a 5 hour flight to Vancouver, hang at their airport for 4-6 hours, then hop on a 16 hour flight.

The first few years the jet lag did hit me pretty hard, but you quickly learn to sleep nonstop through all the flights. For the last decade it hasn't been an issue at all, I never notice jet lag or time changes anymore, always hit the ground running.

However sometimes after sleeping for 14 hours the issue is being able to fall asleep in your hotel room in order to get to work in the morning (and yes, sadly it IS work). The only solution I've found for that problem is alcohol. Works like a charm.

Does that mean it flows straight up at the north pole? Messy place it must be. lol

Have a good set of flights Muff, and stay healthy. I got a flu this weekend and can't imagine traveling sick.

I travel from Vancouver to Perth fairly regularly (another 5-hour flight beyond Sydney), and I never suffer jet lag when I get there. However, it takes me a good 1-2 weeks to feel normal after I get back home. seriously, i just don't get it

Gawd, I love Perth!!!
