I know many folks out there are using our DDVCO module. I've had a very few of you who have come back to say that the LED sometimes flickers out briefly, but on the whole... (and I probably asked this in another thread many moons ago)... I hope this has not been a major issue. If so, I'm pleased to resolve it. PM me.

However, If I can make a FUTURE / planned product's panel a cleaner and well organized layout with pots that are, shall I say IMHO, a bit less critical, would anyone have a problem, in general, with the prospect?

I'm currently trying to fit some of my designs with the most functionality into the least 5U panel space available.

Don't get me wrong - Big round knobs are cool and I love the 5U spacing, but I humbly think that there may be acceptable tradeoffs when accuracy is not an issue, but panel space efficiency is at a premium.

What's your take?

hmmm..... seriously, i just don't get it
Without more particulars, I don't particularly know.
But if the performance of the DDVCO suffers as a result of the look-and-feel, what do you do? And is this affecting the second run of those, or some as yet undreamed-of module?

The way the slider pots on the DDVCO work (from my perspective) is a course selector switch thing on the octaves and a fairly smooth but maybe fine stepped resistance selectors on the banks. If it is a function similar and it doesn't lead to butt-ugly front panel looks then why not?

I think the same can be said for the push button or momentary switch selection with a column of LED's. Sometimes it looks funny but works fine when it fits the function.

An example of a tradeoff you incorporated lately is the PWM percentage on the 1200 vco. Fully understandable due to panel space limits but it is a big tradeoff for fine tuning. The thoughtful aspect was you still offered the user a way to use cv to fine adjust the PWM. A great remedy.

I don't have a DDVCO(yet screaming goo yo ), but integrating sliders into your modules seems like a good idea to me. I really like the way Bruce over at Modcan has used sliders on his "B" series modules. I'm all for more density and for trying new thing in the Dotcom/MU format... shake things up Doug w00t!!
