This completely self-generating patch seems to create such intentional phrases, dynamics, rubati, trills, silences and timbral shaping. . . I just keep exploring it.

for photo, video and explanation of this patch see this thread Krell Muzak 1

Gives me very strong "instrument vibes", like you were playing a clarinet, violin etc... amazing.
thumbs up
solaris
yeah, totally agree with nrdvrg, the articulations are quite something.
did you use the "velocity" inputs on the 292e?

Hi Solaris, nope, I think all the randomness going to the attack and decay of the 281e accounts for the articulations, checkout the patch in Krell Muzak 1 for more details. Many thanks!

Sounds like Jazz! thumbs up

I really like this track. It sounds like atonal classical music (Webern, Boulez...), with just the right measure of silence.

I whish I could get sounds like this out of my Serge.

A great "concerto for clarinet"! A wonderful example for the endless possibilities of the electric music box, if it is patched by a great musician we're not worthy

I can't believe I never heard this before. Damn this thread is old.

This was abolutely beautiful. we're not worthy
A masterpiece of music. It totally reminds atonal classical music.
And it also makes me think of the Blippoo. This is just a patch but with hell of expressions, articulations, timbres.

Thanks for sharing! Brilliant textures and movement. Inspired me to go and revisit your original patch. I recorded about half an hour which I'm going to upload as soon as I have a moment to tidy it up a bit.

Thanks for the inspiration as always.

You can get similar from a Serge but you need a couple of Random Source's to do so and at least one Smooth Stepped. What makes it difficult to get the same variation in articulation is Serge Slope and Transient Generators don't respond the same way to gates and triggers like the Buchla. Close but not the same. Just an fwiw comment.

And yes, this is a brilliant track with tons of expression! applause

Sounds like you have an exact definition/observation, I'd love to hear it regarding your findings on the differences and what they promote/prevent...

Here is my recording of a Krell patch which also features the Ciat_lombarde Cocoquantus which us also being modulated by the same Buchla sources.
Loved experimenting with this. Like Todd says, there is so much movement, dynamics and timbral changes possible.

Not sure why this isn't embedding. I thought I just had to remove the s from https... Maybe I'm missing something.

Thanks Todd. Means a lot coming from you!

I'm thinking of booking a session with you at some point soon. Looking for a bit of inspiration with my 250e module. Could you do a session with that as the focus?

Thanks
Simon
