That's what I've done. Once the first wooden cab was layed out everything else is pretty much all over the place and it's not very efficient, lots of long patch leads.

The MP is awesome. Please do a Frac one
Right now I'm dragging images around a giant Visio document and measuring/sizing/aligning by hand.
Tedious. |

I'd love to do a frac one, its just finding the time now. There are still a lot of things I want to add to the Euro one still.
Maintaining them is another thing, I dont know how distributer prices jump about on frac stuff, a couple of the eurorack ones are a pain in the arse. To be honest I've only been able to spend so much time on the euro version because I've been out of work this month, that I hope will change soon. _________________ Eurorack Modular Planner

A little update of things on their way.
I've been scripting a way to save your last layout and after 4 weeks have finally nailed it *I think*. Basically what will happen is your module position and cost/stats data is recorded to a shared object (a flash cookie) which is stored on your system. So, when you leave the planner page and come back it will load in the data from your last visit and you can carry on adding or deleting modules.
It's not the a patch saving system as such as you only have your last layout but I have a few ideas about that too for the future (virtual cabling) etc.
I've also put in a function to be able to delete modules just be clicking on them and pressing the delete key instead of clicking the red button. Just speeds things up a bit.
This wont be going live for a week or 2, there are a few more things I want to check first.
Also, the youtube integration is another thing that I've had working but have taken out at the moment as the layout thing was more important. But I will put this back in soon. This works by hovering the mouse over a module. A check is made on the database to see if a video is available and then a button or buttons are displayed over the module like a little menu, you click and the video is played back within the application. The same goes for mp3 sounds. _________________ Eurorack Modular Planner

holy crap man, your Modular Planner is absolutely amazing! So cool to see you taking all these ideas and running with them. I'm not a Euro-user, but nonetheless thanks for all the hard work. This is really incredible, and a super-useful resource. Also totally unique.
great stuff....thanks again for all your efforts! _________________ "I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down." |

hehehe, no, not a hint at all
I can only imagine how much work it is... I'm certainly not holding my breath on a frac version - I can tell you still have a lot of work you want to put into the euro one. I think more people are on Euro, and there are more modules available for that format - it makes sense to focus your efforts on that platform - and it's what YOU use, so that totally makes sense.
I have so damn many modules, I have a 'physical modular planner' right here in my racks, I can just move stuff around to see what it'll look like
don't sweat the frac... you're doing an amazing job already! keep your focus 8) _________________ "I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down." |

Update to planners:
Planner now has the following features
-- Automatic Save/Load of Layout via Flash Shared Object (cookies) stored on your system.
-- All modules graphics now have either their graphic or a labels blank panel, so all are usable now. A lot more pictures now.
-- Click a module and press the Delete key to remove modules.
-- Colour scheme change, sorry I cant help myself from fiddling.
-- Clear button now removes all modules from racks, beware this also resets your cookie.
-- Inline contact form.
Project is now getting exponentially more complex so if you find any bugs, pop me a message with the form. Known issue is that case size is not yet saved in the cookie information. _________________ Eurorack Modular Planner

Modular Planner,
You forgot about CGS from Elby Designs.
Really neat tool by the way. Cheers. _________________ http://soundcloud.com/decay-generator

Now if you can find a way to make it printable for patch sheets, I will love you forever.

Had a bit of a break but finally had a little time to perform some updates. At the moment these are only on the Standard version of the planner, I'll be doing the larger version over the next few days.
Updates:
Added more Doepfer modules.
Added more MFB modules.
Added Tip Top Audio modules
I'll be putting in the Flight of Harmony and MakeNoise modules sometime soon. I want to do the CGS ones but have no decent frontal photos of their stuff, so if anyone can email some to me I'll vet them and use the best. _________________ Eurorack Modular Planner

request:
can you please fix the 132-3? its got some funky invisible box to the right of it and the module wont sit on the right side of the rack. _________________ soundcloud | bandcamp

I spend WAY too much time on this planner at work. Sadly it crashes the shit out of Safari/Firefox.
Nice to see the TipTop modules in there, I refuse to plan for modules that aren't graphically represented in this app. _________________ This was a triumph_ |

To bad we can't help you build module objects. At least I am assuming we can't. I'm thinking of something like a jar file with a jpg and an xml file for things like title, cost, HP, yadda.
