I made shopping cards. You need to visit 3 shops: Mouser, Samtec and Smallbear (or Tayda if you use another knobs). Samtec has good gold-platted connectors for very good price.

No 5mm male-female standoffs were at Mouser. I've changed to inches metric. Now 6.3mm instead of 5mm, and 9.5mm instead of 10mm (a washer will be needed).

Not sure about big knob at Smallbear. It is fluted. Will it fit or no?

I've added grey synthpointer knobs because blacks are out of stock. They promised soon will be back..

I've got working stereo channel for VC Stereo Mixer !!!

This is NOT a copy or clone. I've successfully made virtual simulation using LTSpice software, and now practice confirmed - it works correct!

I think can place 4-stereo channel module in 22HP using two stacked boards. Of course will be LED level meter. As usually resistors and ceramic caps will be 1206 SMD, other parts - through holes.

I think will be so. Similar to Cwejman, but what can I do - this is an ideal layout.

For headphones can only place a stereo jack near left out, which will duplicate main out. No place for phone amp and one more pot (dual).

Does the volume level stay steady when you pan across the stereo outs? Most of these things tend to droop in the middle.

Looks really nice...Any chance you could add SMD pads for the tempcos? I don't think the panasonics are available in 2k values so maybe two spots for 1Ks?

I'd wonder about grouping the audio and CV inputs together? And the two outputs? I've never really liked the way the Cwejman was laid out, I'd rather have similar things in the same place which I find easier to see and also works better for multing.

You have a space as well - could there be any sense in a mono output? I guess not, or a second out CV? Thinking on my feet here...

I have to agree with Richard though - the jack placement feels rather unintuitive... how about something along these lines:



One column for each channel, stereo outs in the center.
Personally I'd prefer 1/4 jacks for L & R outputs...

love cwejman style and think the similarity in layout is great (not as keen on the font you are using but who cares).

like sduck mentioned, i am curious about the pan circuit and whether it is constant power or just linear VCAs?

you will prob have a lot of people interested in this one for euro... everyone is always trying to find something like this that isn't cwejman price.

Great to see another solid stereo mixer, particularly with so much CV control and detailed metering. The larger knob for "Out" is a nice touch.

That being said, I'm a big fan of roglok's interpretation - having all of the inputs and Left/Right outputs grouped in such a way makes for a very intuitive design, as well as having a nice aesthetic appearance.

I made linear panorama at this prototype, it's obtained -5.3dB at the center.

I modeled -4.5dB at the center, it easy to make with one resistor change, but in this case dependence will be a bit curved.

These are shots from my simulation. Will record a sample soon.

So would I, this would always be an output module in my use. It would be nice to at least leave space in the design for 1/4 to be an option

No place for 1/4 jacks, sorry. They are too deep. Overall module deep I plan 31mm with backpanel.

I think can install a CMOY headphone amp but without separate volume pot.
So will be phones stereo jack with volume control from main big knob.

also, will all signals be available on a header on the back of the pcb please?

this will enable easy custom break out panels for things like 1/4" jacks, d-type connectors for sound cards, direct post-vca outputs for each channel (multitracking signals), daisy chaining multiple units, etc etc

No possibility to make separate outputs and level meters for each channel, because channels mixed just after VCA chips before current-to-voltage converter opamp. It's for minimizing signal way and saving better sound quality.

I'd be delighted with this. And even without a pot the headphone output is a nice bonus.

I've always created my own panels, also for L-1 projects (although Aleksei's designs kick ass - blame OCD). Anyway, here's how I'm planning to squeeze 1/4" Jacks and an additional headphone pot into 20HP:
