Between these two models, you get a LOT of functionality, and it got me wondering: if you had these two modules, and could only get two other modules, what would they be? (assume you don't need multiples)

That sounds about right. I might substitute a Hertz Donut for the Osc-2 but that is just personal preference.

I might just agree with you there, too. That or perhaps an AFG?

I'd get a Hertz Donut and a Wogglebug.

this is a really great question... I'm currently in the midst of plans to start a system and after seeing maths was thinking that basing a system around that and a qmmg might be where i would start.

That is a good one. Pretty much every patch I've done in past few weeks has started as SEQ-02, Hertz Donut, Woggle Bug, A-143-1 running through the QMMG.

I can't wait till my Maths arrive, I know it will become another center piece. thumbs up

Matched pair of oscillators, whatever flavor you like best. FM is gonna sound best through the QMMG in my opinion.

I'd take the macbeth dual osc and a-155 sequencer please.

Dedicated sequencer modules are a default selection. Choose another module hihi

Seq-02(freebie selection)
QMMG
Maths
Two Anti's or one Anti and one Hertz Donut. An Anti-Osc. without another oscillator is like having tortilla chips without the salsa. One is good, but two is how it should always be done.

Well I bought a BAM and a Doepfer Inset/Crossfader module with the MATHS, but that had to do with need rather than cool factor.

Yeah, I think a Herz Donut is almost a given. Wobblebug is a pretty obvious choice as well, but the Anti Osc would be cool as well. All three + a µLFO would be a killer combo...

This thread should be renamed "Recommended 3U systems." Really interesting. If Tony makes a dual VCO with the right features he's pretty much going to own it. Oh, and an ASR.

Dual VCO, Wogglebug, ASR, Maths, QMMG.

Not sure that fits though.
