i started the "only one oscillator" thread because at the moment, i can only afford to buy one oscillator. can't anyone get opinions on gear without being criticized? seriously, i just don't get it

These kinds of threads might be annoying to some, but they're a valuable resource to others. It's especially interesting to see people explain why they pick what they've picked certain modules.

I don't think anyone's knocking the threads, we all gave our own answers in them. 'Tis all in good fun. That brings an interesting question to mind though; if you could have only one criticism of the "only one" threads, which would it be?

would be usefull & serve some sort of point, the rest is just 'ype.

a) the idea of making a choice based on polls & random collections of 'I like X cos I own X' is pretty daft.

b) in practice people arn't saying 'VCO A because of X, Y, Z' they are pretty much saying 'B' or even wierder things like 'I have C, but would have A if I had a bigger case' when A & C are WILDLY differant sounding / featured ccts. I can't figure that out AT ALL!

With regards to informed purchase type queries, wouldn't it make more sense to ask far more specific questions, comparing VCOs based on the experiances of people that may have one but not the other... again... wierd.

seriously, i just don't get it
