Re: Korg ARP 2600 availability

Congratulations!

It's such a phenomenal bit of kit. Not touched my modulars since it arrived!!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I am.

Re: Erm.. Romplers?

JV-1080 is hard to beat if you want a classic rompler.

That said, the Mellotron Micro is a fascinating combo with modular. I don't gig with my M4000D or my modular, but in your shoes I'd add the Mellotron Micro.

Re: What is the worst synth sounding you ever bought and why ?

Nothing from my point of view. When i decide to buy a synthesizer, i test it before or hear it from video,...read the manual and inquiring about the reputation of the manufacturer when i don't know it directly or from user feedback, ..no surprises or negative experience. You are a very lucky man! I...

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

Mine has still not made it to the studio - it's in the living room with the keyboard on the Roland piano and the main unit on the flight case behind it! Disappointed to see someone selling a new one for £6500 on fleabay un the UK. Serial number below 10. I may be wrong, but that sound's like someone...

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

Really sorry to hear that. We may never know if this was Korg overpromising or dealers over selling ARP2600s they had already been told they wouldn't get, but it hasn't been handled well. Aside from the usual "I'm buying this........ I'm cancelling this, because (insert indignation here)" brigade, t...

Re: Is the cost of a module worth it?

It's amazing what gigantic expenses become ordinary costs. No one on this forum has any studio more expensive than a very normal purchase common to someone most streets: A second car. I agree with your philosophy pretty much 100% except for this point. There will be people on this forum with a stud...

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

Congrats! July of '75 was a good time. :tu: I never thought about it that way..... Mine is serial number 380, so March 1980 - Daniel Miller was working on the Silicon Teens at the time, also working with both DAF and Fad Gadget. For sure Daniel Miller and the Mute bands are the main reason I spent ...

Re: Behringer - Introducing the CAT Synthesizer

We should keep these threads honest. Integrity is important, particularly if we want to have digs at the integrity of others? Edit for spelling etc is one thing. Edit to change history is a bit sneaky. i posted a problem. i made a mistake, the problem was me. that is the end of the story. it's not ...

How familiar were you with your 100M?

If it was a set-up you understood well, perhaps the Behringer System 100 might fit your needs?

Different scale of course, but might work?

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

What anti Semitic things are you seeing? Not calling you out, I simply haven’t seen anything. Peter Kirn Corksniffer video Behringer posted was seen by some as having this. Others did not see it the same way. Many did agree that either way, it was still bad form on Behringer's part. Plenty of talk ...

Hang on, this is getting silly! Is it just me or is "edit" being used to completely change the logic of threads? One minute someone acknowledges they have learned something ...the next they edit the post to a completely change from "I made a mistake" to something different like "my hopefully only be...

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

I think all is probably well, but I'm also new to the ARP 2600 so could easily be wrong. On the initial gain, are you sure the right hand slider in the mixer (VCA) is not at zero? Try the exercise on page 60 of the owners manual to make sure you're not misunderstanding the function of the mixer (VCF...

Dave was the best keyboard player in New Order, apart from Keith Emerson.

Not a lot of people know that.

RIP Dave, you were an inspiration and a pleasure to watch. My Cembalet is my Cembalet because of you - but mine doesn't sound quite like you. Must be me!

A Genius I'll miss so much.

Re: Korg Arp 2600 Arrival Date

For me, it means that over and above this being a beautiful and powerful synthesiser with an interface and sound to die for, the quality of the cabinet is astounding. The step brother on the other hand, despite the beauty of the electronics and the panel (which are beautiful) has tolex which is........

I was starting to wish I had ordered from Gear4Music as I hadn't heard anything this week, but I've just had the "your item has been dispatched" email from Andertons, so it does feel like a few have hit UK retailers.

Roll on tomorrow!

I'm sure it could, but why not connect straight into the inputs of each module? ECV into the oscillator rather than KOV for example?

Really enjoyed that. Part way through I was thinking "why have they ignored the Explorer 1, the Little Brother, the Axxe, the MSL?". Then it looped back and picked them all up. Great stuff. Reminded me of the time I turned down an Avatar because I didn't know what it was, and then the time years lat...
