Re: Reel to Reel?

I use 2 x Revox A77's in an expanded 'Time Lag Accumulation patch. There is a large tape loop connected between the tape decks, multiple delay lines are added and the sound goes out to multiple resonators connected to cymbals on the floor and a series of small amps. It's an amazing system to perform...

Re:

I’ve been idly considering a K-Mix for a while to replace my Mackie Onyx 820i. The form factor is deeply attractive, and the ability to use for live (read jamming) or as an audio interface. I predominately use the mixer either for a ‘live’ output into my Sony M-50 portable recorder, or as an interf...

Re: Alternatives to Rings in 2020

It's FPGA based. And a total gem. It has absurd range and way more uses than the simple front panel would have you think, especially when you consider that it's DC coupled so it can delay any CV you throw into it. EDIT: Also, it's really quite hands on and intuitive once you get used to the zoom co...

Re: Alternatives to Rings in 2020
Daaaamn this is amazing. How come ???
I have a CG Products Delay 1022 which I absolutely love for Karplus but it doesn't have the massive range of the d0. I don't think the d0 is that hands on & would take a lot of effort to get these results but well worth the effort as it sounds ...

I would love to eventually get hold of a Mungo d0 after listening to these excellent examples from member Uzala https://soundcloud.com/uzala/d0-flutes?in=uzala/sets/mungo-d0 https://soundcloud.com/uzala/d0-karplus?in=uzala/sets/mungo-d0 https://soundcloud.com/uzala/dod0?in=uzala/sets/mungo-d0 https:...

I've just noticed Noise Engineering are planning a 8x8 called Vice Virga, looks like an expanded RYO Path. Interesting.

Re: Best sequential switch?

Antumbra PATH is the best overall switch module. This looks cool but have you used a 4:4 or (any #>1):(any#>1) switch? They just bring some many more patch possibilities, rerouting a patch in so many ways. Of course you can still use it as just a :1 switch if needed. I don’t think I could ever go b...

Re: Best sequential switch?

I use A151's but also Antumbra Path which is brilliant, basically 2x4 or 1x8 in 6hp and does a number of things. You can run one side sequentially & the other side as random or link the two sides together to do 8 steps sequentially or random, it has other modes but can't think of them off the top of...

Re: To Planar2 or not - joystick in a small case?

On any joystick the springs should be easily removed, I had been looking at the Flame as it's a small footprint but as an alternative I ended up building a Delphtronics WiiChuck which is only 4hp, I'm planning to take the WiiChuck controller apart to remove the spring. So far it's great to have the ...

I've come from Ciat Lonbarde so I'm used to straightforward descriptions :sarcasm: At the end of the day it's not so important whether your aesthetic is 'flowery wellness' or 'psycho-geographical maps of Cleveland & Baltimore' it's the sound that counts & we should all remember these are instruments...

Thanks, a day of pain but a good result. I've still yet to process one of many thousands of field recordings successfully but I think rather than go down that rabbit hole too much I'll just come up with some new recordings for this particular module.

Re: 2hp - Play

Don't panic people, this is a brilliant module. My process for success, don't try and reformat existing samples to fit, record fresh one's in audacity at the correct file, batch process them to remove meta, use the app 'BlueHarvest' to remove meta from SD card (I'm using Mac os 10.11) after you've l...

Re: 2hp - Play

Well I've managed to fix the file select knob bug by using an app called BlueHarvest which scans the card & removes all the metadata apple puts there. But still no joy on any kind of usability, I've tried multiple samples & they all sound horrible. :zombie: Any recommendations for a decent wav playe...

Re: 2hp - Play

I'm having nothing but problems with Play. I've done everything suggested, even down to the Mac OS Terminal trick but it's so hit & miss. Occasionally I load a few samples from Audacity & it's all good, sometimes the same samples with a few extra on the SD card & it turns previous good samples into ...

nobody else has shared my experience with the audio jacks? Hi, I don't think it's a concern. I don't like 1/8 connectors on music equipment but I suppose the acc...
