Be very careful with opening it up. It takes a wizard to realign all of the screws and stuff. The final assembly is very strange.

Re: MS-20 Mini Sounds Different Triggered via Midi vs SQ-1
Duty cycle (as mentioned) or sloppy MIDI to CV. It could be that the MIDI to CV convertor also has some slew in it. I've run into these kinds of discrepancies many times.
It is best to just use the one that gets you where you want to go and move on.

Super cool in many ways. Love to hear/see the electro-acoustic approach and novel use of modules.

Re: Behringer VCS3
a vcs3 clone poses an interesting dilemma. according to the karma police its not ok to copy things that are being still produced by the originator - which is the case. but how amoral is it to copy something where the originator cannot keep up with the demand because he insists on building it exactl...

I’ve got two Buchla modules that need finishing up and a piece of outboard gear that is blowing it’s mains fuse.
I’m too busy to fix them these days.

Re: 256e questions
1) Yes
2) Not at all reliably.
The Studio.h 254e Control Voltage Processor is probably better for you if you require pulses to pass cleanly.

Does that channel have an "Insert" jack? If so, turn the fader down or mute the channel. Jam a standard 1/4" jack in there around 3 or 4 times and that may clear the corrosion.

Re: Fender Jazzmaster - Avice for first time buyer
Take a visit to Offset Guitars. You a then research pretty much anything your heart desires. I own a bunch of Jazzmasters. I think that the most satisfying JM, which is closest to traditional, is the Troy van Leeuwen Signature model that I own. Everything sounds and feels ‘right’. Mine has a Staytr...

Re: *** Vintage dealers taking the piss on used market ***
I think that you are missing a few key things from the story. I'll mention two of them: Are they fully serviced by competent and respectful service personnel and do the products come with some form of guarantee? If a price seems high, contact them. Prices are often negotiable. Still too high? Just i...

Re: "Best" Banana Color Scheme for New Format?
The Buchla scheme is ingrained in my head and makes sense.
If you want to do audio over banana, then just choose something complementary. Batchas also suggested something logical.

I was the only person I knew that liked Tull when I was growing up. Even my older brother, a man of good taste, called them "That boring medieval band shit?" but could listen to Zeppelin's lyrics without irony.

Cortini used it and it is compact. Certainly more forgiving of neglect and abuse than a Lexicon rack.

Re: electronotes/musical engineer's handbook/pcc pdfs
Okay, I've now read from page 2 forward. Nothing really happens until page 4. It is my opinion and judgement that nothing got so far out of hand that mature adults couldn't negotiate it themselves. Calling for a shut down of the discussion was premature and Lemmy's call for moderation was unwarrante...

Does nobody moderate this swamp? NOBODY reads every thread, not even you, Mr. Righteousness. Just do what you did and report it. There are hundreds of posts per day. Nobody is reading them all. There is a reason for the report function. :sstorm: And now; I'll go about reading all of this for context.
