Lynx to Tascam IF-88AE to Motu 2408MKII for Silent Way

Hi, I owned a Universal Audio Apollo and before that, I owned an Ensemble, that I used to connect to my Motu 2408 mk II (via optical) for sending CV via Silent Way. I had problems with the Apollo, so I returned it and got a Lynx Aurora 8 that obviously only has AES/EBU. I thought that I could use a ...

I asked Mr. Tom Oberheim, and all of the inputs on the SEM's oscillators are exponential not linear. So, I guess I will need to get an analog oscillator with linear cv inputs down the line (if I want to make the sounds that I want to make). I assume the cynthia is, because it's a quadrature oscillat...

zerosum beat me to it, i listed a whole host of freely downloadable resources in the link above! there are a more in the follow up comment too. the allen strange text will probably cost you a bit, as will the roland "the synbthesizer" box and the devahari text, but they are worth having. having sai...

I think I understand what you want to achieve. The polys you are mentioning are all DCO synths, and so they track VERY well compared to a VCO. If you want FM to sound the same all over the keyboard range, perhaps you could try syncing the VCOs while x-modulating them? that is a fantastic idea! and ...

i'm pretty sure this patch is outlined in detail in many of the classic texts (allen strange, roland's "the synthesizer", the arp 2600 manual etc). where can I get these texts? my entire subtractive synthesis knowledge has been self taught, and I would like to know some commonly used techniques, bu...

to make this more simple... i have my osc. 1 of my SEM modulating osc. 2 and I have 2 modulating one. Ocs. 2 is turned all of the way down and i have control of the amount of modulation via the modulation knob because i am using the modulation in on each osc. the sound is almost there, it sounds lik...

could someone explain how two cv controllable amplifiers can make a x-mod osc track on a keyboard properly? He drew you a diagram: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix/2817_crossmod_1.png Your missing the full patch. It's not VCA's that are giving you cross modulation, you can skip the VCA's a...

could someone explain how two cv controllable amplifiers can make a x-mod osc track on a keyboard properly? not that i don't believe, i just don't understand how that would work a modular vca is just an amp with cv control as well as knob control, so how does it pitch track a modulated osc. to the m...

i want to have a module that goes in between any two osc. and allows control of the cross modulation with say your pitch cv to make is so you can create fm style bell sounds (a la jx8p) with any two osc. is this available, possible, or anything like that i hope i am sick of having to have poly synth...

when will we be able to have just a trigger with no cv

i know we can have multiple cvs with one trigger, but i want to use the volta to control a drm1 mkIII and a MBase through trigger inputs. is this an update that will be soon?

This is the email I got back from Jomox: why don't you use midi? the trig input needs recovering time, or you would have endless double triggers. no, this can't be fixed, I'm sorry. Have you tried making the notes shorter duration? I haven't had any trouble with 32nd and even 64th notes. I'm running Numerology > DP > Volta. There's more info and examples here in case you're interested: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6330 If you just need triggers and not gat...

it works fine with the trigger sequencer, but when i make 32nd notes in logic's sequencer with volta as the virtual instrument (voice with gate/trigger), volta plays the 32nd notes like 16th notes (as in it reads the first not, not the second, not the third, etc.). also, does anyone know how to just...

A: does volta produce 32nd notes for any of you guys (i'm running logic)? i can't get the gate to trigger 32nd notes
B:is there a way to get env/gate by itself without pitch cv?

thanks

just wanted to add a sample track of what volta can do

just modulation from volta, modulating the voyager a murf and a fooger phaser. i just wanted to show, that even when you are not controlling pitch and gate, that volta is an amazing tool. i also noodle a bit with filter, octave and murf settings as volta is controlling them. my favorite thing right ...

I still don't understand if you were getting the Voyager to trigger the 101 then why are you shooing for 15v? i just tried the voyager with the model 101, and it as well does not trigger the decay and sustain, only the attack and release. i don't know enough about cv to make any sense of this.
