Just went and checked it out. Pretty dang cool. I'd have LOVED this when I was playing bands. Hell, it beats the Session 8 we did our first record on...

Re: question about Nord Modular

The obvious advantage is having a standalone hardware synth with Nord Modular (to a lesser extent with Micro Modular). If that does not matter to you, Reaktor or perhaps VCV Rack would be the route to take for me. Why the "to a lesser extent" with the MM? It's just as standalone as any of the other...

So, the question of making the MIDI jack 3.5mm or 1/4" remains. I can do either. Both are now accepted MIDI standards, though I'll admit 3.5mm has a significant lead in the market. 3.5mm would also help prevent confusion as to the type of signals that are expected. Yet we're back to "ponytail aesth...

Also- What's wrong with Jethro? Call the module "Jethro Tull"? OK, silly. Ha! I hadn't even thought of "Tull". I was just thinking of Jethro Bodine and my own dear, departed Tortoise named Jethro. I didn't understand why Ethan said "Use Jethro, for all I care" or whatever he said. I'm wondering wha...

Couple of thoughts. Can you just put 3.5mm MIDI? I mean... There's a lot of devices out there using 3.5MM MIDI, and you'd avoid any potentially dangerous patching while saving me the hassle of getting a 1/4" adapter. I think you could just use pitchbend for the pitch. Give it an octave either way fr...

It arrived halfway through lunch, so I got a few minutes with it. Build quality is quite good. Certainly a good value for the money. The "Chips" voice module isn't going to blow anyone's socks off. I honestly can't imagine buying that module outside the bundle. That said, it's a great solo module fo...

Whilst this would be a great excuse for the low quality video, it's simply not true. Next you'll be saying AMCS runs on an Acorn Archimedes A3000 computer because it's hip, rather accepting it's heritage is with that machine. I don't undertsand what this is - embedded OS to run on what? The videos are from the 90s? The videos aren't from the 90s, they're just done on a budget, the Netbook and Roland MC-303 view is a Playstation 2 "Play" camera. The Netbook didn't exist in the 90s. Shenanigans. Funny, I was just reading the latest "What's the best sequencer of all time?" and all I could think was ASQ-10.
It's the sequencer portion of the MPC-60. Just a fantastic beast. Bought mine for like $50 forever ago. Just saw one for sale locally for some absurd amount.

Yeah, I'm someone that loved the MC-303 when it came out.
I like the potential of the MC707, but it's got a couple strikes against it.
Too expensive.

And what is wrong with bananas (4mm)!!!! ???? They are only a little bigger than 3.5mm but are substantially more robust (used by just about every piece of test equipment in the world) and can easily compete with 1/4" You obviously haven't seen the Panther family from ELBY Designs which are 3U modu...

I think 1/4" and TT are nice. They feel secure to me.
In my own ideal world, Moog would've used bananas, and hopefully everyone since then would've used the same.
