Re: Waldorf Iridium

Watching the demo person repeatedly miss buttons on the edge of the screen drives me bananas. It already uses 'soft' knobs, why didn't they add soft buttons? I wish synth companies would go back to that design paradigm and leave touch capabilities to drawing LFOs/EGs, XY pads, etc. Look at old MPC/S...

Re: The Tempest Is Dead, Long Live The Tempest

That it shipped at all is amazing to me. From the descriptions of the low-memory hardware onboard and the fiasco with the OS, it feels like that whole side of the thing was a senior design project gone horribly wrong. For a while pym was the (sole?) man running interference on multiple forums too. I...

Re: Eventide Euro DDL

I'm usually pretty good playing module Tetris to keep the noise down, dunno. Hello, we tried to replicate this but couldn't hear a clock signal on our test unit. Can you let me know the signal chain including clock? Thanks, I'll get the details of what I've tried together and hit your PM when I'm ab...

Anyone else's have clock noise? Almost reminds me of old BBD clock honestly, it's not pleasant. Happens powered by switching or linear for me.

If it's any comfort, I haven't had any trouble with the official adapters on various devices. Still using firewire gear via two adapters even.

Re: Rossum Panharmonium Resynthesizer

I've found there's a zippering on the Dry/Wet that is not ignorable, bummer since I wanted to use a Planar with it. Has anyone else experienced this?
Rossum didn't reply to my email so I'm not sure if it's an early rev issue or what.

Re: interesting modern digital synths?

The Sledge is mostly a blofeld with a great UI and much hotter outs, I'd suggest it wholeheartedly especially at the prices it's going for these days.

Don't think this is mentioned enough, if you've ever interacted with a sampler it's very easy to stumble through, super fast operation. Just a great module.

If the core is the same as the precision VCO I'm definitely scooping this up for my KB37. I don't usually like hyperdense modules but the features and normaling here are fantastic.

Novation stuff has, imo, always hit harder than its price point and the after-sale support is legend.
I hope they keep throwing money at Chris Huggett for stuff and never get sold off to some hedge fund to be run into the ground.

We're gs now? Elektron repeated the same design error as in the original Monomachine SFX-6, which, at that time, was criticized by the users: when you operate the knobs you can not see the screen from the position of the keyboard player, because your hand covers it. :picard: I keep a MnM on the shel...

I've had a few days with mine and it really is a joy to play. I will say I'm too often I'm running out of keys on the right hand side and running in to voice stealing. Could really be great with double the polyphony. Could really really be great with a SID engine option, instant chip-a-phone. and ye...

I'm sure erica will take care of everyone to their ability. As-is this is a monster VCO for small systems, I use it and a doepfer A-111-3 in a kb37 and want for nothing.

I just read that Kurzweil is coming out with a PC4. I have an old PC3, and Kurzweil's VAST engine is just a small step short of being a virtual modular. Not the most user-friendly interface on the PC3, but given the size of the screen and the complexity of the engine, it's not too bad. I imagine it...

I leave quantize off and tune my other oscillator to it. Currently this is a doepfer A-111-3 micro vco, together in a KB37. In this config I typically don't even have to adjust between sessions after it's warmed up. Agree it would be nice if the way tuning operated could be improved but I'm happy wi...

Just picked up an EPS16 because I love the EPS sound, I think they really knocked it out of the park with that platform. UI is still amazing today, great playing board.
