Re: Mods in the 200e?
Yasi Perera loaned me a firmware card that had an early incarnation of the 259e twisted version. It came about following my response to his post asking folks preferred their waveshape functions. He noticed I liked the more noisier banks. Once I was used to the instrument, I was often wanting to have...

I think I recall reading somewhere Ezra writing that scanned data used for the waveshape transfer function table in 678 included areas of memory that held parameter settings of the twisted 259e version, which then I think that if being pointed to, would produce a table that, depending on the paramet...

thanks - a whole lot of EMS is there :)... I wonder if that bit of variation in filter type could actually be an interesting thing to toggle? Whether push pull or toggle switch, the filter slew mod is really nice as it allows the filter to be more responsive to audio rate fm, especially nice when u...

I have always been attracted to this idea, if partially because recognizing my inabilities as musical performer, but also finding that the circuitry was much more interesting than any of my ideas anyway. To that end, I found non stage situations to be much more comfortable. My first was a patch play...

I would also look at using installation grade amplifier and passive speakers, it may be easier to set up, and provide more speaker options. I have had good luck with Stewart amps:

The original 259e wave shaper functions generated tones that were mostly harmonically related save for aliasing, in theory I think. A few of the functions could produce some wilder things. The functions were some Chebyshevs on the green side, and some hand drains on the red, if I remember.. These fu...

I wonder if it might be possible to find someone with a Kyma system in the area for hire at an easy enough cost. Kyma does this kind of thing really well. Ideally, they could set the patch up for and see if you could run with an iPad. Maybe view the Kyma as a surround mixer with you sending what sou...

Robin indicated plans for VCS3 production to begin this summer. Other things such as the DK keyboard, pitch to voltage, random generator, phase frequency shifter, and the fixed filter bank are being planned, . Thanks Don. Good news about the VCS3! Re the "phase frequency shifter" - I've never quite...

Don H. Nice track/s I remember Robin telling me that after A's/VCS3's were finished he was going to unveil a new portable synth design. But that was several years ago. so nice to see more of the A's hit the streets. Oh, thanks! He has mentioned the idea of an expanded Synthi, which could be very in...

If someone in the UK could make that phone call for updates, we'd all love to know how things are progressing so that we can have some real information and stop obsessively speculating. Or at least turn our obsessive speculations to other details. :) I think it is becoming evident that Synthi produ...

I believe that was Ivan Tcherepnin's, and I'm guessing he or his family gave it to Harvard. Another photo:Morley wrote:Who belongs to this?pas wrote:
