Just to be sure, these are the correct settings for flashing? https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/10735_clouds_vstlink_settings_2.jpg \ Did you do a full erase on the chip prior to flashing the bootloader and clouds hex files? Worth a shot if not. Yes, I did. What voltages should the firmwar...

Ok, I checked all connections like uwe suggested and actually found one unconnected pin! Still not a working clouds, though. Sometimes I get a LED sequence at reset (green, red, orange, green 3 times) and sometimes all four LEDs are all lit red, no sequence, just on. I tried loading the audio file a...

I've been trying to get my clouds up and running via the ST-Link. I flashed the bootloader.hex file and the clouds.hex file, these are confirmed working in the ST-Link utility software, but It doesn't seem to work. The LEDs light up differently and in a different color with every reset. Any help or...

I have a stupid question: The lines around a pot, how do you know where to draw them? Or is it just like a clock in 12 parts?
Well, a clock goes 360 degrees. Most pots go 300 degrees.

Okay, I have a couple of "problems" with my shaper module. 1) The output of the shaper is virtually non existing when AM isn't engaged. I can see how this is normal operation but I'd like a conformation on this.(?) 2) I also have the waveshape switch problem. When the waveshape switch is in the midd...

Sorry, related but not totally on topic.... if you are able to control the DECAY on this via Midi, could it be controlled by CV on the Zthee version? In theory, of course... The MIDI data is ultimately converted into a voltage, which in turn controls the decay.... which doesn't care where the volta...

I can't tell you if this is normal. It doesn't strike me as odd or out of the ordinary for a rails to reference resistance either.

I had some difficulties finding good slide switches, still have to honest. So I stick with toggles. I think thy look crap, especially when the thread sticks out of the panel, which is often the case with pot PCBs, the switches are simply to long. On the plus side, there easy to find and the round ho...

The 5V powering of the buffer transistors limits the outputs to 5V. You can connect them to 12V/15V if you don't need this limitation.

Nope, I don't think so. The knurled shaft type pots warn't as easy to get hold on as they are now, in my experience. I think this is why the solid shafts were and are more popular.

Personally I think trigger inputs are more important than anything, individual outputs less so - IMO the 'sound' of these old drumboxes has as much to do with the ensemble effect and the final VCA as the drum sounds themselves... Anyway, great stuff Boogie! Completely agree on this! Although, a seq...

741's really aren't all that great. I'd recommend using the TL07x series instead. AFAIK you aren't gonna get much "character" out of a 741, just poor specs. I'd have to disagree. Many of the old monosynths known for their character are pre Bifet and pre 07x. Their OPAs are closer to 741 than 07x. I...
