Sorry, related but not totally on topic.... if you are able to control the DECAY on this via Midi, could it be controlled by CV on the Zthee version? In theory, of course... The MIDI data is ultimately converted into a voltage, which in turn controls the decay.... which doesn't care where the volta...

The actual resistance may have changed over the years. I wouldn't put any effort in it, but hey, that's just me.

I can't tell you if this is normal. It doesn't strike me as odd or out of the ordinary for a rails to reference resistance either.

Nope, I don't think so. The knurled shaft type pots warn't as easy to get hold on as they are now, in my experience. I think this is why the solid shafts were and are more popular.

Personally I think trigger inputs are more important than anything, individual outputs less so - IMO the 'sound' of these old drumboxes has as much to do with the ensemble effect and the final VCA as the drum sounds themselves... 741's really aren't all that great. I'd recommend using the TL07x series instead. AFAIK you aren't gonna get much "character" out of a 741, just poor specs. I'd have to disagree.
