Re: Which system/module to start building? (aiming at the bananas)

If you want banana’s and sDIY theN LW format stuff is great. An easy in is the Slightly Nasty line up with well thought out pcb and panel combinations. After that the CGS boards and LW panels offer up loads of different options in both functionality and build complexity. As mentioned above there are...

Note: its kind of a bummer that the Midisizer MKII does not put out mod wheel as a CV. Maybe this can be remedied in the software. If it did, I could show you how to use that in the typical way, using the standard TTSH. The Midisizer Midi2CV outputs note, velocity, pitch bend and a controller which...

I still don’t understand your use of the term velocity. What are you expecting from the velocity output? Note Velocity. It looks like you are wiring this to the pitch header which is not as I would expect CV (From MIDI2CV) is wired to the EXT CV Header. Unless you have changed the midi2cv configura...

Hi there, just came around to building that. can anybody that built one confirm that square and saw outputs are 0v - 5V only? and that the ring mod signal is more like 5V to 10V? and the LFO out is very weak? thanks. I'd not scoped the outputs until now but having now done so I can confirm what you...

During the calibration process of 'VCO separation trimmer' (page 40/41) it is asked to 'Turn the Bend control fully clockwise. If the oscillators start to beat more quickly or more slowly, then adjust the trimmer to get the slow beating again.' Well for me just by touching or brushing the rotary pa...

That is a 0.1uf decoupling cap. Thanks, so the BOM should say 39 caps for this then? I’ve double checked I’ve not got any of the other ceramic caps in the wrong place and all looks OK there. Yeah, pretty sure you need 39 0.1 uf caps and the BOM was one short orignally - although it has been a lot t...

I’ve just started my build on this and looking at the v2 construction guide it clearly shows a space for a cap between R128 and IC33 unpopulated at the bottom of page 10 which assumed would be for a 0.1uf cap. Then on the bottom 11 it shows it populated with something. I’ve already got all 38 0.1uf...

What PSU are you using?

I’m not lucky enough to have one of these but it looks like it needs an AC supply. If you have a DC one plugged in the leds might turn on but you won’t get anything out of it.

Does anybody have a pdf of the cgs208 WAD page? I don't see it in the files from this thread. Wayback has the text, but the images are broken. The CGS208 WAD info is available on the Synth DIY wiki at the CGS Serge Wilson analog delay page. You are doing a great job of making this info available. :...

I am not sure I understand your question. I have the midi2cv in my TTSH. The trigger, gate and pitch CV outputs are all wired into the relevant points on the synth. The other CV outputs (velocity, pitch bend, mod wheel, controller) are available on jacks so that they can be patched as desired. If yo...

There is an audio in from the panel to each board (Direct Inputs - Audio) Audio out from each board goes to the panel and the mixer inputs (Audio In) on one of the two boards to create the mix out. Yep one shot mode works fine so it looks like everything is working as expected.

Thanks.

You won’t gain anything by using a higher amp supply. The FC power board uses regulators that max out at 0.5 amp so with some headroom 2A is more than enough.

If you don't want to install a toroidal transformer then you can normally grab something from eBay.

This one for example - although eBay is biased to my locally settings even if I search through ebay.fr so this is a UK seller.

Search on 24VA 12V 2A and you should get some hits.

Brings to mind when Pearl Jam was featured on the cover of Time magazine (I believe) Eddie Vedder said ~paraphrased~ "We're screwed".
