I miss my Sidrassi Organ...
Had one for a few years with brass bars, back when it first came out on the scene. Deuterostome wants to come back!

Yep, love it. Any music I hear, I can compose it with Reason. Not that I want to compose new-classical, but it does work well. I currently compose solely electronic music of various kinds for my clients in Reason, and it never fails to satisfy. Works great for me! Especially for odd sounds and anyth...

There was an old software for windows - I used it up until XP - I cannot for the life of me remember the full name. It had the word "orange" in it, and it was an interface with tons of sliders on it. It made all sorts of synth and percussion sounds, and output them to wav. Do any of you remember tha...

The FAQ nails it. I am going to video a demo of myself playing the Thyrus as it is very under represented on Video. Duotron, have you posted this video yet? I used to have a Sidrassi Organ, but I gave it up. Kicking myself years later, I have heard the very few examples of the Thyris that are avail...

there is worst sounding but there is also worst usage of worst sounding synth ... which elevates the topic to a completely different level. my favourite being this video, im not quite sure what synths we are seeing here in action but i love the emotional involvement of the listeners! Awwwwww, c'mon...

It would be really easy to hate this, so I'm going to. Your'e only seeing the negative side of this instrument, you can get some wonderful sounds out of it IMO, especially when you put a few contact mic's on the case and bash it with a hammer..... I'm eager to see if they add an option for attack o...

I just bought one of these yesterday. I love it. It's a drum machine that has it's own sound, and it's own limitations. I like the way it sounds, even if the hihats don't really have a pitch control (as a drummer, through headphones, it sounds like tightening/loosening the nut on a hihat stand - ver...

A few of the worst synths I've ever owned: Roland U-220 Roland MC-303 EMU Orbit v2 The U-220 was essentially a GM module in a rack, with some nice realistic sounds, but just too simple - probably for composers who needed some extra sound samples for backup. The MC-303 was interesting at times, but p...

Danelectro Spring King Delay Mod - Disable Delay
If I wanted to disable the delay function of the PT2399, instead of attaching a potentiometer to the resistor connected to it's leg, could I simply cut the leg of the chip? Or, could I cut the trace connected to the chip? Nobody seems to have done that - only attach a potentiometer. I don't want to ...

Analog Ordnance Lowpass VCF

Really nice filter - very loud when the resonance is all the way up. I place it before my ZVEX ILFJ and it turns into a squidgy potato distortion when overdriven. Really great pedal!

I have a particular soft spot for junky awkward electronics like this, sort of in the spirit of early Devo. I'd definately pick up something like that if I found it for sale cheap somehwere, and find a way to feature it on a track or three... I love the part of the video after the effects come on. ...

That looks super dorky in the best way possible. Is it strictly hand triggered, or is it possible to sequence it from something else? It is pretty dorky - I have cleaned it out and reviewed the circuitry. Simple circuit and no way to sequence it. Hand drumming or re-wiring only. The drums are reall...

Mica Sonic Congas/Bongos/Woodblock
I just purchased this analog drum synth. I haven't turned it on, as I've got a TON of cleaning to do - the foam inside the pads has turned to dust, so I've got to clean the entire device. I have searched for more info on this set of electronic drums, but nobody seems to have any information on them....

I used to use one, a 2010 13" MBP and it was excellent. The only times that it bothered me was when the software could have used a larger screen. That happened more than I would have liked. I am also a graphic designer and did a year's worth of contract work on it. I assembled hardware store flyers ...

Spring Reverb Amplification
Before I ask my question, I'll tell you what I'm doing. I have a spring reverb tank from an old bass amp. I have the effects send going into it, and the output of the tank is going through a ProCo Rat and back into the effects return. It sounds beautiful. I don't have any need for advice on amplifyi...
