Re: Eurorack Go in practice

Yes and there’s the travel size consideration, certain Mantis sized designs are about as big as you can go for Carry-On.
Or at least that was the case before the ‘bugopolypse’ 🙀

Drone Day noodleparty

:guinness: A little Droney jam I did for the BEAMS western Canada Drone Day last night. Ran around gulping gin and changing scenes between noodles. There's an interesting Drone thingy going on where I use three Doepfer Theremin controllers to modulate a Doepfer A-107 multimode filter and a Doepfer V...

Re: Making a patch malleable

Something I like to do with Frames is set the big knob and each channel control to center, run some major CV paths through the channels, and then build the rest of the patch without touching it at all. Then, once I have the patch sounding interesting, I add some frames and mess with the VCA's to se...

Re: Am I not creative enough or do I miss some important modules?

Lots of good advice here. My two cents is this: Think about modular as being “what it does” more so than “what it sounds like”. In other words, with normal synths most of the juicy stuff is hidden away under the hood and the sound shaping parameters are what you get access to. In modular, everything...

Re: Sky Wiggling on the untouchable patch!

You're handling your confinement masterfully ! (You had a european tour lined up if I remember correctly ? ) Yeah, as I work on it some more I’ll put up some info on how it’s patched. :despair: Yup, sadly this is the week I was scheduled to fly into Estonia with a portable version of my Sky W...

Re: Sky Wiggling on the untouchable patch!

Are you sure that you are not waving your hands around while playing a pre-recorded song, I mean that sounds way too musical for it to be happening that way. Kudos Lol, I know! When I first saw the footage that’s exactly what I thought! :hihi: But when I’m playing it, it’s very responsive, you can ...

Sky Wiggling on the untouchable patch!

In an effort to completely distance myself from everything I’ve had to resort to creating a patch that I can play without having to touch my modular. :cloud: This way I’m completely safe from every possible calamity except maybe looking like an idiot while churning out dreaded burst music  The ...

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX

ZOMG! OS saw my message! (Enjoyed you run thru with Sonicstate!) My usage is quite simple; when I travel with a patch, I like to be able to record performances of myself playing. At home it’s easy to patch into the daw with lots of channels but the size of the gear makes travelling with it troubleso...

Looks amazing, I wonder if all those inputs could lead to a multitrack recorder mode that streams 4-6 channels onto the card? 😻

A-197 VU meter question

I was lucky enough to find an old Doepfer A-197 VU meter.
Module works fine but the lights in the VU meter stopped working. :waah:

Anybody know if this can be fixed?

Re: All Eurorack Chaos modules

After reading this thread years ago I became very interested in trying to use Chaos CV to control generative patches. I ended up collecting some of the Fritz Chaos modules and after a trip down south was inspired to create this monstrosity. This patch was never actually completed because I ran out o...

Re: Quarantined for 2 months with one synth...

Hmmm from my arsenal of sub $500’s I’d have to say one of these:

Micro Modular
Matrix 6R
ESQ-1R
Blofeld (but only the white one)
Krog Prophesy

Re: How the heck does the doepfer A-152 work?

It always has to be on a stage so there really isn’t an all off. You could just leave a stage unpatched and it would be like a null stage for much of the module’s functions, but the Track and Hold is always active if you’ve got an input to that section. Using buffered melts in and out can help with ...

Re: The ethics, morals and legitimacy of musical equipment and its manufacturers.

I dunno, I find the whole thing alarming. Clones scare me and always have. I remember being a kid back when analog was king in the 70’s and my mom took me to see em, they looked freaky, drove up in a tiny car and all started piling out. So many of em with their evil faces, climbing out of a tiny car...

Hep a brotha out! New Vid

When I was but a wee lad I spent my summers sleeping in a cold tent waking each morning to here the sounds of the Canadian prairies. For years I’ve wanted to recreate the haunting call of the Mourning Dove so here she is! I’m hoping to do a little touring with the modular this year, including a Nort...
