Re: ES-9 standalone summing?

You can route the ES-9 mixer outputs to the USB sub-block in the config tool, so routing the mixer results to the DAW inputs. I would use single DuPont cables: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Elegoo-120pcs-Multicolored-Breadboard-arduino-colorful/dp/B01EV70C78/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=dupont+cables&qid...

What does it do? Continue to play the chord as a chord?

Video may help here.

Re: building DAW CV to MIDI rig

You mean ES-3, not ES-4?

The parts of Silent Way you need to use to drive the ESX-8MD do not require a licence.

Re: ES6 to ES3 connection question

Apologies, clearly I didn't look carefully enough. The connectors on the ES-3/6 are 2.54mm pitch.

The speeds look fine. The Kingston cards should be OK but it will only cost you a couple of quid to try another one.

Re: FH-2 and Midi plugins in Ableton

Yes, that will work.

It won't be as smooth as the ES-3, because of the limited resolution of MIDI.

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX

It's not possible on the mk4, since the Z input is not an audio input on that hardware.

Would be possible on the EX though.

Re: FH-2 and Midi plugins in Ableton

I think you would need to find a M4L device that turned parameter automation into MIDI. I'm sure such a thing must exist.

Could you try firmware v1.3.1? I did hear from another user that v1.5 had introduced problems.

Have you tried moving the module around in your case? Or unplugging any other digital modules, in case any of them are dropping noise on the power bus?

Re: ES-6 Mk2

So your ADAT connections would be

Saffire -> ADA8000
ADA8000 <- Saffire

Saffire -> ES-8
ES-8 -> ES-3
ES-6 -> Saffire

?

Should be OK.

Re: ES-8 issue / no I/O signal

Odd. Have you tried it standalone, over ADAT?

If the USB connection is working, it would be really weird for inputs *and* outputs to both fail, as they're separate subsystems.

Are both LEDs on the ES-8 (above the USB socket) coming on?

Re: Disting EX fw1.5 and calibration

Very odd.

Are these changes definitely solely attributable to the firmware update? Nothing else changed in your case?
