You can test the ADAT cables and the Focusrite by connecting ADAT from Focusrite out to Focusrite in. The see if you can pass 8 channels round the loop.
Repeat for both cables.

For 1.7/1.8, does it still crash if you fire it up without the SD card in?

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
When does it crash? After the boot loader splash screen? Or does it get as far as the main splash where it shows the firmware version?
You could revert to 1.5.0. Or try the 1.8 beta: https://github.com/expertsleepersltd/is ... a1.hex.zip

Re: Disting EX Pitch Change on Gate Off
You say it does it with the FH-2 so it's not a case-to-case connection thing.
Does the case containing the EX have enough power? Could you remove some modules temporarily?

Re: Disting EX Pitch Change on Gate Off
Unable to repro this.
Does it do it when under MIDI control as well?
Is the algorithm using default parameters (apart from the release time)?

I can't immediately reproduce either issue. Could you try reformatting the SD card, if you've not already?

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Another issue is now rearing its head, however -- which is that sequences sent by my Rene v1 have pitch wobble on the EX. Specifically on SD Multisample, or on other algorithms too? E.g. Poly Wavetable, or simple VCOs in dual mode. But I would think some of the patches I've been having trouble with...

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
What's the sequencer?
You could use the disting's WAV Recorder to record the CV & gate, then we could inspect the WAV to look at the relative timing.

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
I’m also a little unclear as to why all three of the CV inputs would be off by the same amount. That suggests that the calibration reference voltage was off. I can’t get it to load any of the poly wavetable presets that I downloaded to the card. In either “load from SD“ or “load folder to flash“ th...

Re: Configurator setup advice for FH2 8cv?
Correct, there's no way of separating the CVs and gates to non-consecutive outputs using a single MIDI/CV converter.

Re: Configurator setup advice for FH2 8cv?
You've specified "base gate" which is telling it to use an FHX-8GT for the gates, which you don't have anymore.
Also, why are you using two MIDI/CV converters on each MIDI channel? One would suffice.

Re: Disting EX - Dual mode presets - Question
It is how it is - I'm not sure 'intended' is the right word as that implies I planned it that way. :) I'm aware that I need to rethink some aspects of the preset system. It should be possible to recall single/double-dual presets consistently, but as you say once you're in dual mode, the program chan...

Re: Disting EX - Dream Machine Issue
Thanks. So 'jump all over' was a bit of an overstatement - it's basically doing the right thing, just stopping on some incorrect values along the way. These 5 parameters are unusual on the EX because not all values are valid, so it has to skip the invalid ones. It will be something to do with that c...

Re: Disting EX SD Multisample feature request: Channel Routing
Would it be more straightforward to simply route the samples according to whether the WAVs are mono or stereo? It seems weird to make, say, a stereo kick drum and then tag it with 'M' for mono output.

Re: Disting Feature Requests
Yes, sorry, I confused myself. Irrespective of the MIDI file details, the MIDI Playback algorithm assumes the incoming clocks are quarter notes.
So a pattern of quarter notes might do it. Or I could make the algorithm's relationship with its clocks adjustable.

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
If it's not tracking correctly, that will be down to the calibration.
I would note though that the sequence in that video jumps over a very large range - how confident are you that your VCO tracks accurately over that range? A better test would be to use a tuner.

I would imagine that you have channel 7 mixed into output 3 in the ES-9 config.
