Re: where are all the minijack patchbays?

I mostly use mine for patching I/O for my 500 series and compressors, but I also wired in a couple ADC 24 point patchbays to work from the control room to front of house. I could see a 3.5mm patch bay to be useful, but would you need all 24 patch points be 3.5mm? Maybe a mix of some kind? Pic of my ...

I just bought this as a project.... 4481 (1) (1).JPG 12 x 24 x 8" travel, highspeed water cooled spindle. I love public auctions! Nice to see new life brought back into an old machine :tu: Keep us updated with more pics as you make adjustments and changes. We could spend a few pages just talking ab...

Re: Experience silkscreening DIY panels?

Thanks for bringing this thread back up.. It answers a number of questions I had. I know it might seem intimidating to start down this road, but you can pull it off (pun intended) for a pretty reasonably cost as far as up front costs go. You can purchase a couple screens from Sunbelt and use a loca...

I like the rack mount voyager with breakouts, the Roland system-1m and of course the Cirklon.

What you call a studio would qualify as a concert venue for some people :tu: .
Well, it kind of is. It's a 100 year old, former baptist church in southern colorado. The acoustics are awesome :tu:

Wow DSC - thanks for the detailed posts. How do we find more info on the small mill? Well, the one I have had my eye on for the last year is this one on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Axis-CNC6040-Desktop-USB-Router-Engraving-Drilling-Milling-Machine-Engraver/162520193192?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX...

Re: CNCs for aluminum panel work

I actually want the flex :tu:
You can cut faster with less backlash if you use the give of the rods like suspension :tu:
Comes with hours and hours of cutting and observation. Yes, counter intuitive, but it works.

Yes, typo on the thickness, corrected. Thank you.

Re: CNCs for aluminum panel work

DSC, is your smaller router some type of home brew setup? It doesn't look like any particular machines I've seen. More info on my small CNC. It is a cheap China version from about 5 years ago. Most versions of this model now have the router attached to the main Z axis. My version uses a flex shaft ...

Re: CNCs for aluminum panel work

DSC, that's awesome. What machine are you cutting with? Warning! Large post!!!! I have two CNC Routers. A large one and a small one. Why would you need two? Why not just get a big one? Tolerances! My large machine is DIY and the tolerances are +/- .060" over a 48" x 46" bed. This is fine for larger...

That's interesting, as, often, traditional print is "looked down on" and metal photo is considered the pinnacle of panel marking.

Its curious that you bothered to go from one to the other.
I really wanted it to match everything else :tu:

Re: Behringer go or Mantis

Nice set up!! Would you be so kind as to point out where you get these threaded patch cables ? I make them myself. Got tired of the plastic ones failing on me and the feel of the plastic ones just felt cheap. You can buy the cable cheap from ebay. I use the longest USB cables I can find and then ch...

Wow, DSC so you do all that in house?
Yes. Sometimes all you need to do is blast the original panel and powdercoat and screenprint it.
Like this e370 panel. I didn't like the original metalphoto panel.

Re: CNCs for aluminum panel work

If you will spring to get the CNC machine, then you might want to project going the whole way.
I mean if you start cutting up some fancy smancy panels then you will want to finish them by powdercoating
them and screen printing them too!
Little gif of my process.
