Re: Line power strategy for Lots of Gear?

[ As a follow up....The US power distribution is different than Euro in a key aspect. In the US power input (single phase/ residential) is L1, L2, Ground. There is no true neutral. That is not very different and I don't see why you say there is no true Neutral. Neutral is the current return path and...

Re: Easel pressure behavior

Huh, didn't know the jitters were still a problem with the latter ones.
Ferrite only helps attenuate the HF noise on the AC, might help with wall powering. The pressure issue is going to be a wrist strap. Ground nanner on the side near the power input.

Re: Easel pressure behavior

The issue is when you touch the face plate you put yourself at the ground level of the Easel. It thinks you have grown a much bigger finger. Pressure isn't sensing pressure but surface area. You can use an anti static type wrist stap to the ground banana or tape the end of a banana to your skin. It ...

Re: Sadie for electronic music

I like Sadie for its ease of use and SPEED. Editing is like Bias Peak on steroids. If you are using the hardware (DSP) version you can use the BOB I/O as inserts, real time. This is why it is still used by mastering engineers. I personally think of it as a Radar system with editing, mixing facility....

Re: Buchla Easel Command Module 208C

I can't really answer your question (nor can anyone yet). I have the C module, all midi functionality is via the command module where midi is part of the power supply module. So once the commands ship, people will be able to test the abilities/limits of the midi integration. I am working to complete...

Re: Linnstrument or pedal steel guitar?

Recently discovered Daniel Lanois recently. Really makes me want a pedal steel, and a Lexicon Primetime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCWIDn6Q6Xs Korg SDD-3000 is his go to delay, has been since the U2 days......He always coaxes such haunting tones from pedal and lap steels. Made me appreciate a...

Re: Perhaps I need to take a break

Many years ago we would go to a cabin in the mountains that had an OLD fridge. When it shut off vapor would percolate up the radiator in the back, it would cause this wonderful ringing. We called it the freon harp. Had a constrained pitch sequence with a random pattern that would gradually slow and ...

Re: Buchla Easel Command Module 208C

208C arrived!!! And it fit in the custom designed Sky Easel case! Whew...... First impressions. It sounds better than my first issue BEMI easel did. One of my standard patches, the LPGs were pluckier and the reverb sounds WAY better. Turning up the reverb doesn't diminish the dry signal, it adds rev...

Re: Line power strategy for Lots of Gear?

Yes, I misspoke. The ground goes on a seperate wire to the main service ground rod. It bypasses the buss in the breaker panel. That is code for an isolated ground in the US.

Re: Line power strategy for Lots of Gear?

I use 220V to the main rack and a load splitter/suppressor/distro to feed the 110v strips in the other stuff. Takes a 30a 220V line and gives 2 separate 110V circuits with their own breakers/switches in addition to the main which gives a convenient way to turn on and off your gear. Get an electricia...

Re: Buchla Easel Command Module 208C

To clarify my bullshit call. I fully understand the delays. I do not understand the mantra of 208C's are shipping in 3 weeks. This has been repeated to customers directly and to at least one dealer for months. I would assume they have set aside enough 208s to build command modules for the kickstarte...

Re: Triggering a Model 15 from a Mother-32

The trigger cable shown above works great. The control voltages are compatible. The audio levels are not. The M32 is much hotter and will overload the inputs on the 15. Won't kill anything but will distort.
