Re: External eurorack mixer
I've been liking the idea of a euro format mixer stuck into just like a 4ms pod enclosure as it's own thing. I'd think you'd want to cv fun things like panning and stuff, which wouldn't be possible with a regular makie type of mixer. Depends. I'd say a regular Desktop mixer can do way more than a m...

Re: Can you drill holes into a blind panel made of PCB material?
Yes, it will drill fine. FR4 material is made of resin and you consider a respirator & good ventilation when working with resin dust because it is a sensitizer (i.e. you can become allergic to it after exposure), though drilling small holes won't kick up much dust. Also 2 HP is very small and fragi...

Can you drill holes into a blind panel made of PCB material?
Well, the thread title says it. Today I received some blind panels I ordered. I wanted to make some multiples of them. But as I unboxed the panels I found out that they're not made of black painted aluminium but of that PCB material (what's it called BTW?) So quick question: Can I drill holes into t...

Re: External eurorack mixer
Yes. Simply use a standard mixing desk and adapter cables. Bonus: You can plug anything from microphones up to modular level signals into them. They cost much less than a modular final stage mixer and are easily available everywhere.

Re: 2 sequencers to the same VCO
A problem with a switch is that sequencers may not output the same voltages for the same notes (the 1V/oct standard is relative, not absolute; and Rene, for example, is notorious for outputting a small positive voltage at its lowest note). Thus, if using a switch, your VCO may go out of tune when y...

Couldn't you just buy some rack ears and 19" rails and use any kind of 19" 15U rack you can get in the US? You could then use any PSU by screwing it to the back of the rack...

Another Idea: Tempo syncable function generators like 4MS Pingable Envelope Generator or MI Tides: If they're Tempo synced, the end of... Outputs should also be quantized, right?

Re: Small panning modules.
The new Erica Pico VCA is a dual VCA in 3HP. One channel has a manual offset. So you'd only need an Inverter and two multiples you might already have to patch a panning VCA.

Re: Quantized gate delay modules?
It might not be as accurate as you want but you can patch a quantized gate delay with a gate delay and a sample and hold: Gate delay output into S&H signal in and Master clock into S&H clock Input. The S&H will output quantized gates. This will only work if you adjust the gate lenghts the delay puts...

Re: Quantisation Help!
On Marbles I've turned the steps quantiser knob CW and set it to a Minor scale. I've then patched one of the X outputs to my V/OCT input on Plaits. But what key is this in? For example, how would I set it to E Minor? Likewise, on Pams I've set one of my outputs to 'Random' and set the quantisation ...

You prefer 10V if you need more than 5V
It depends on the receiving module.

VCAM: - Plug your drums into one of the signal inputs. - Plug column 1 output into your final monitoring. This is your dry output. - Plug column 2 output into your filter and the filter output into your final monitoring. - Now turn up the attenuator at the crossing of drum input and column 1. Your d...

Re: Dual Looping Delay from 4ms
It's by design and has been discussed earlier in this thread, there is also an alternative firmware that should fix this albeit never tried it. Yeah I see that now that you mention it. It's perplexing. I guess I don't understand the purpose of the original firmware and send/return design. I guess I...

You could buy an Arturia Keystep. It has CV and gate outputs. So you can plug it directly into your modular without a MIDI/CV convertor module.

Re: Decisions! Decisions!
I own a MPC one and think it's CV sequencing capabilities are rather limited. This is mostly due to how the CV programs are implemented. For example: A CV program has the parameters pitch, gate, velocity and mod. Now you can assign each of these four parameters to any of the eight CV outputs. But wh...

No, the RCD needs a constant clock source to divide from whereas the multiplyer works out the timing from the first two pulses it detects and doesn't change until they do. I think! +1! Wow. Scale is tipping in favor of SCM. Here's a question: Let's say I feed it a clock signal then remove the exter...

Re: Sequencers - reset response and other gritty details
Well, it's not very helpful if people say they have a problem and someone says that there is no problem. Here is an article about DIN Sync: https://www.wikiwand.com/en/DIN_sync It says that a DIN Sync clock signal starts with a delay of 9 miliseconds after the start signal. In the description of th...

Re: Sequencers - reset response and other gritty details
Reset has always been an issue for me. Most of my sequencers react unconsistently to a reset pulse. I think it's due to the timing of the reset pulse. Maybe it should have a slight timing offset so the reset trigger won't come in at the same time as the clock pulse. I think I read somewhere that th...

Hope Korg are planning to change the way the arp works... https://youtu.be/Wm9zmAVwxDE?t=783 Maybe it just needs divisions on the clock rather than just multiplication.... but an option to arp the chord over the entire sequence would be handy. too. Re: Doepfer A-133-2 Mod Input uses?
It is to polarize the signal No, the main CV input does that (like on the original A133), the mod input controls the amount of CV. Confusingly the mod input CV range is -5v to +5v with -5v being zero modulation (though apparently this can be changed). You could use that input for conventional VCA d...

Re: Most complementary modules to Grayscale Supercell, Ears, Rings and Yarns for Generative Music
Odddball answer maybe, but: A multiple. So you can patch an individual output of the Tanzmaus into Ears and then into Rings and/or Supercell (and maybe use Ears' envelope follower) and have a dry copy of Tanzmaus' individual output. I like your thinking. Would the Doepfer A-182-2 be able to do this...

Clock a CV sequencer with the output of an euclidean sequencer. Bonus: You can get creative by resetting the two sequencers with different outputs of a clock divider.
