Re: Some suprise finds in my feed today

https://vimeo.com/458055171 https://vimeo.com/437029996 Yet another happy suprise: a very tasty feedback rig. While it's great that we do this kind of feedback in Memory Palace. it's worth remembering that there are also lo-tech ways to rotate an image. The system here also rotates the camera, so it...

Re: Stick your video doodles here.

Handheld camera feedback using a cheap spycam and a circle key. Two sessions were montaged, then upscaled to 1080 with some smoothing to remove aliasing.

See if you can spot the edit between sessions and identify the wipe. It shouldn't be hard. ;)

Re: Stick your video doodles here.

This patch started with Braids into Diver. Then it got out of hand. The result was 5 captures montaged into 2 videos. Spot the edits. ;)

Re: Stick your video doodles here.

Some old video feedback sessions, using a pair of B/W cameras, processed in post to reduce PSE risk and then blended in pairs with an animated key. All the post work was done using FFMPEG.

Are any shops in the UK still selling this PSU? None the shops I know who have sold them in the past have had any in stock for some time now. I'm looking at alternatives instead.

Re: Digisound 80 refurbishment

Yes, welcome to Muffwiggler, SynthFreq! I've enjoyed your Youtube videos for years. My own Digisound 80 is a similar size, built and maintained during the 80s my Roger Massey. Alas, mine too needs refurbishment, but on the recommendation of Roger, I made sure I had some spare parts, like knobs. Now ...

You might have the wrong demo topic. Unless I'm mistaken, that's just an audio synth. Does it also output video? ;)

Re: Stick your video doodles here.

A variant, using the xmedian filter in FFMPEG to mash up 3 older videos. A 'krell' soundtrack was generated using CSound. In other words, this is all post-production.

Thanks! That's what I'm hearing in general, but the resonance is SO weak I don't see the point of being able to CV it at all. I'll make sure to check any op-amps or other components though as I've had VCO's not working but using a known good CEM, which turned out to be something else. Yeah, maybe t...

FWIW, my 2 SVF (80-7A) modules don't oscillate either. I've always assumed that's a feature and it doesn't bother me. Whenever I wanted a filter to oscillate, I've used the VCF-L (80-6L). So I don't think your modules are unusual. BTW, one of my regrets now is not getting a VCF-H and VCF-B. I have a...

There were quite a few artists that were new to me. The last one, however, didn't interest me at all. I don't object to the use of computers in video art (I use them myself), but I have very strong feelings about people conflating AI with AGI. However, I found the documentary as a whole to be a good...

Thanks! I started this thread with a list of a few LZX and some non-modular devices. The "DISCONTINUED" and "ACTIVE/RETAINER STATUS" lists above cover the LZX side, for me. This is wonderful news! Besides lists, there's the video sampler/mixer news. I had really hoped that this might happen. Now I c...

Some suprise finds in my feed today

Two music videos using some familiar video tricks just popped into my YouTube feed. I don't recall seeing anything like this from these accounts before, which was nice. First up, an old wiggler here with some tasty 'scope work. The second sup...

Hints at future Orion modules suggest this series may also include mixers, samplers etc. While some people have modded mixers to give them CV inputs, MP etc are so much better at modular integration. I think they may save space, too.

More info from the website: Topogram is a sequential soft key generator capable of splitting live video and patterns into discrete bands for colorization and control. Edge transitions feature voltage controlled gain for creating hard edges or smooth gradients. Upper and lower thresholds for the keyi...

Maybe, maybe not. For anyone starting a videosynth now, it just means they start somewhere different. It's still a start, but those of us with a VC or Marble Index can do compositing before the final output. Someone starting a year from now won't have that option. They'll have other modules, like Me...

Two Liquid TV modules might be nice, but I think I can manage with only one. I use the main output for the few times when I need another monitor.

Thanks.

Re: LZX: Loom, Topogram, Marionette, Hourglass, & Tower

Consolidating Topogram-only info: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/1136_topogram_1.jpg Topogram becomes a sequencer. It slices up the input ramp and gives you up to 5 sequential segments/sub events, with a diverse range of control outputs. Essentially we're using video soft keyers as anima...
