Problem solved ...it was a fault on one (or maybe 2-3) of the cheapy jack Chinese sockets I’ve used being that the NC tags were not connecting properly ...

I just wish Switchcraft were not so expensive.

But the unit is fully working ...sounds excellent.

Again, thanx for help.

Thanks for your reply, help and time.

It isn’t the connection from pin 8 to All input of socket as I’ve checked that numerous times ...

But the U7 gives me a pointer so I’ll throughly check this and report back
either success or failure.

HVM .....the ALL INPUT is dead SOLVED

I’ve built the HVM and all the four sections work fine individually ...but when using the ALL input it’s dead. I mistakenly put in an 8pin Multi resistor at RN1 instead of a 9 pin but I’ve connected a 10k resistor to pin 9 and pin 1 hopefully to rectify this. Could this be the problem ? All connecti...

How to tackle various voltage supplies in a modular

My modular has quite a few modules from various manufactures and all seem to require different voltages. i.e +/- 15..... +/- 12..... +/- 10 .....9v..... 5v..... Most of the main modules requiring +12/-6 v supply are taken care of by Powe-One psu's everything is fine here. it's the odd modules here a...

Thank you for these replies. This will make life easier as I do frequent octave switching. The trimmer is a good solution. I deduced that there are about 5-6 octaves controlled by the Course Tune pot. But in the low frequency end its difficult to hear octaves. I guess a rotary switch ...resistors an...

Oakley VCO switched octave course range ?

Has the Oakley VCO ever had a modification whereby the course range control pot has been substituted with a resistor chain rotary switch instead ?
(Such as on the Moog 901a) where each turn raises or lowers an octave.

If anyone has done it would they explain how it's done (if it is possible) ?

It simply was a wiring problem. I had jumped the PSU from a small test module thinking it would be no problem...it was!
Taking the power direct from the PSU now works fine.

Ps I'm still totally impressed with the re-instated Oakley VCO.

Thanks Tony

It's a home brew PSU powerful enough for several modules.
I will check as you advised ...appreciated .
I'm beginning to also suspect my wiring routing ..
I'll do the tests.

PSU supply problem when adding extra module. (Solved)

In my system I've a Mididac and also a Synth.com osc running on +- 15 v ..these are the only two modules on that voltage. When I add the Oakley Osc I'm getting sever distortian and keyboard tuning going haywire. Disconnect the Oakley osc and everything is back to normal. The Oakley osc works perfect...

No Steve I saw the kit ...it was what I needed...I've bought many kits before and never had to read every single word to ascertain EXACTLY what the conditions were. The item was usually listed with visual photo saying what it did and build experience level (sometimes) I do disagree with "what was cl...

Thonk A440 ref "kit" problem

I came across the hard to get crystal so decided to build even though some of the resistors are incredibly obscure ...

I wonder if anyone can recommend a relatively simple A 440 reference oscillator ? I tried the Mini Moog reference A 440 but didn't get anywhere with it.

Thanks for help...

Yes it's the regulators that are overheating ...the transformer barely gets warm...I've used massive heat sinks but eventually the monoliths blow..
I'm moving onto the "can" type regulators but still think I should supply half the modules each with its own regulator.

Can single transformer/rectifier supply several regulator ..

I'm not electronically trained but build quite a bit of stuff. To solve overheating of my modular power supply, (I keep adding more and more modules) I'm wondering to simply add another voltage regulator circuit I.e. Two +/- 12v regulator boards sharing half of the modules each. I have a huge ample ...

Moog 911 modification ?

The circuit of the 911 EG looks pretty uncomplicated but, jnot understanding the actual nitty gritty workings of electronics that well, I wonder if anyone could tell me if it is possible to adapt the Attack/Decay section to produce a more exponential output ?

How would I get exponential results from a Moog clone 911 ? I notice on Arturias Modular V their output VCAs have slope controls on attack/decay ...I would love to modify a 911 clone.

Variable slope ads generator circuit?

Is there any variable slope or exponential ADS or ADSR generator circuit available anywhere?
Could a standard EG be modified ? Particularly the Attack phase.
