Disting EX Dual mode simultaneous MIDI

I couldn’t see a clear answer from the manual, so I figured I’ll ask: if I run the EX in dual mode, say one as a MIDI clock and one as a quantizer, can it simultaneously take MIDI in (for the clock) and simultaneously output note data (from the quantizer)? Any hiccups there?

The colors are kind of odd choices though right? Red silver and black I can see, but the dark blue and gold are odd. I'd think white and a bright color like yellow, orange or light blue would be more popular. Dark blue: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/117_monopolyasm_1.jpg Gold: https://...

Yeah, Muff's isn't the audience for this machine. I'm not exactly psyched about the sound (general subtractive analog mono voice), but the power is really in the motion sequencing and tuning, for me, anyway. The $299 means it'll fly off the shelves this Christmas. With whatever GC coupons come out, ...

Roland SDE-330 Dimensional Space Delay. It's a rack unit with tons of character to it. It's really good at spatial/stereo/panning stuff .

I've been really impressed with Luke Abbott's use of it: It looks like he mainly uses it as primary clock for his modular and tweaks sounds/params as a pattern plays and then just reco...

Don't forget about the Ravish Sitar, which predates the B9 by a couple of years.

I love everything about the form factor. I'm trying to conjure up the right small sequencer to pair with it to have it be my noodle around on the couch setup. Maybe a SQ-1? One of those Arpeggio dealies?

Pretty sure it's not 'tap out a beat'.

It's 'tap out a clock division/multiplier' or 'tap out a tempo'.

You can use the program buttons to nudge the outputs forward or backward, to get snares on 2 & 4, for example.

In case anyone else was wondering, if the 0-Coast sees MIDI clock, it auto-routes to the tempo/stepped random generator. There's also a way to disable this, if you'd like. (Source)

The NAMM video makes so much more sense than the official overview video. :/

I guess there's more official Tempi videos coming? That should be interesting.

As someone who just got out of modular audio, I would pick this badboy up. Its sound structure is actually how I'd start most of my patches in the modular (tri/sine into a wave folder). The price is great, the patch options are great, the form factor is great. I love the Serge-yness of it. I'm havin...

I'm intrigued by this: http://www.matrixsynth.com/2016/01/new- ... ieler.html

The renders look really fake and 128GB sounds like far too much storage for a reasonably-priced desktop unit, but who knows. Come on, Waldorf, surprise me.
