Re: [Ordering Closed] Gene Model I Drum Synth
I used a meanwell switch mode supply, so I'm not sure why you couldn't have used a wall wart. I skipped over the ac rectifying section and jumped in at the DC point of the pcb

Re: Kikad pcb layout to front panel
I'll take a look into that inkscape extention, Ive never used inkscape so there will a bit of an uplift there. I have been using freecad and have been able to import the kikad 3d model and render into freecad. I hadnt been able to draw ontop of the model and derive constraints from the model. I was ...

Re: Kikad pcb layout to front panel
Just to clarify I dont want to use kikad to design the panel, ill do that with some graphics programs. As an example, one part from the file is a slide pot. I'd like kikad to tell me where the panel mount screw holes are on the face on the slide pot. This would be projected from the cad model based ...

Kikad pcb layout to front panel
I'm completely new to kikad and freecad so go easy in case this is relatively common knowledge. Ive gone ahead and layed out a pcb and populated all the footprints and cad models for each part. When I render it, it looks so good 👍 and I'm really excited for it. I have a big gap in my knowledge and h...

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I just used a meanwell rt125 mounted in the case. Works well for me, no noise issues and plenty of power

In the past for other outboard gear that has required input/output transformers I have sent the specs over to Edcor to see if they have anything suitable

Re: Buchla 100 clones: 158, 180, 140, 156, 106, etc. DEMOS
I've been playing around and have few questions. Do I have an error in my 180's I can only ever get less than 10% of the decay and duration dials before they are rather unusable. Am I thinking too conventionally such as an adsr for controlling a gate. I struggle to make use of the 140's start and st...

Whoops sorry I missed this one. They are from fpe I can't recall the prices and don't want to misquote. You can get the panel files and load them into the fpe software, it has a quoting tool.

Re: OPERA ROTAS, a DIY mutant drum machine BUILD THREAD
I'm also curious how the base sounds get generated. In some patterns I hear sounds that dont seem atainable from other sounds. Said another way I hear something like a snare sound and in another randomisation I hear heavy FM sounds. It doesnt seem any amount of knob twiddling will turn the snare int...

Re: OPERA ROTAS, a DIY mutant drum machine
I got mine up and running today. Is there any shortcut way to clear all the patterns across the 8 channels. And could you explain the volume controls. It appears as though the center is the lowest volume while either left or right is full volume

Re: Help with Aux eq and compression
Thanks both of you for your comments. @bugbrand, I kinda get what your saying but am not fully there. Are you suggesting that I send multiple channel strips (via the group pushbuttons) to a specific group that has a compressor on the insert? @Michael. I make techno and drone ambient. I have the foll...

Help with Aux eq and compression
hi all, I have a soundcraft lx7ii 32 channel mixer. I have always used a hybrid placement of my mixer and placed all of my compressors and eq's on the master out before the speakers. I have since moved to a temporary space and would like to use my compressors and eq's more as aux sends. In this scen...

Clock multiplier suggestions
I'm searching for a simple (and cheapish) clock multiplier to sync my diy Gene drum machine with other gear. It uses a slow going 50% duty cycle sqaure wave, any suggestions
