Dungeon Synth

TOTALLY not modular synth related, but anyone here want to get a dungeon synth thread going? I'm a big fan and it definitely deserves some mention. I'm a huge fan of Jim Kirkwood and it'd be nice to archive some other people's faves, let alone some possibility of modular in this realm (with a HUGE r...

I personally love the look and layout of this. Was looking into getting a mono this summer and was considering giving the KArp a second go, but this looks like it might beat that in the GAS department. I feel like it's an instrument you could really learn and get what you need in a live scenario whi...

it's the internal modulation that sets the DPO apart, though. you can have it going by itself without a single cable and get some rad sounds on it's own. I lovelovelove my DPO. :omg:

i'd get the portable case but wouldn't be hasty to get rid of everything else at first. just focus on the travel case and see how it feels. EVERYTHING can be used for the sake of noise! i've been rocking a cramped 6u/84hp diy case myself, portable is pretty rad.

substitute the doepfer mixer and vca for a make noise optomix (mixer, dual vca, dual lpg), and function (envelope, slew, clock, voltage/audio processor, lfo, vco, wtf). those two will add that "wobbly boop zong blop" to that system quit nicely. then decide from there. i'd substitute the dpo for brai...

maths has always been there for me. super handy and super fun, lfo, env, mixing, clocking and clock modulation, cv and audio processing, triangle vco, etc.

it's definitely an experimenters dream instrument that's for sure, and not everything it can do is obvious, but that's half the fun!

MATHS aside.
Noisering has always been a classic in my setup. Clock source, random, noise, weird sequencer, oscillator.
My xmix is an xfade, ring mod, vca, mixer, and my borg is a lpg, filter and osc, PERFECT for drum patches. My dpo is a system in itself!

I don't do techno, but for drastic changes i use my qplfo which has mutes for each individual lfo and my mutagen mixer with a mute for each of it's six channels. I can start stop whole sections of modulation and sound completely with a push of a button.
