Re: New modes for the E352 Cloud Terrarium

Not that it really matters, but I upgraded and it says v1.5b? I never go for beta firmwares. Maybe it's just a mistake/typo?

Hey SlyFrank, The quote you pulled is not referring to external CV or any external control, it is referring to the internal 1-8 hardware "sets" settings where you can press a button and have a pitch perfectly recallable and finely tunable with the potentiometers on board. You can go through and pre...

This type of hardware engagement does make for much more finer tuning of preset pitches as opposed to just 1V/oct, since one can slightly turn the knob this way or that and have it be just off pitch if desired and so thus make other scales besides "well tempered." Hiya - haven't checked this thread...

<new modules from AJH Synth> I was liking the initial description until I read that it only adds/subtracts octaves or semitones. What about if one doesn't want to do 12-TET? The Doepfer Precision Adder seems a better choice, unless I'm missing something...I get that the Doepfer doesn't add semitones...

Very interested in this module. I see that there is no manual yet for this new version (still the MK1 version on your website). No worries, I'm in no hurry. Only reason I bring this up is that I know that this new version offers the user the ability to program user (microtonal) scales/chords, from w...

I got mine from Thonk also. Did your jacks have 4 legs? If so how did they all fit? My PCB only has 3 holes per jack, but the jacks have 4 legs. Still trying to figure out if I should cut the fourth leg. I don't know how else they will fit. Nothing mentioned in the build docs. Edit: Looking at the b...

ADDAC 306 Transitions jack confusion

I started building an ADDAC 306 last night - very easy build - they even did all the SMD soldering, which I would have been happy to do myself, but that's fine with me that they did it. So the build is mostly just soldering in the mechanical components - jacks, pots, etc. But I have one nagging ques...

Can anyone with a utune confirm that they are able to send the tunings out through midi? Polyphonically? Can't seem to work out how to set it, unless i've mistaken it's ability, the synth is picking up midi fine but not the pitch bend messages needed for the tunings. I have and love the uTune, but ...

There is no manual for the beta yet, so here is a quick explanation. - In midi routing you can now define midi pitch translation. (arrow, µ-arrow, no arrow) - currently the settings from midi out are used, so you must set midi out mode to sysex, or pitchbend OK, so I've spent quality time with this...

Hi - I recently installed the latest beta firmware and it's going very well, except for the last thing I tried. I am trying to use the new MIDI-MIDI microtonal conversion, and I can't get it to work. Using my MIDI keyboard, it works great for MIDI-microtonal CV note/CV gate, but not for MIDI-microto...

Re: radio music crunchy pops

I've also had some problems with new firmware. Wav files are crunchy and distorted. The .raw files were a pain to convert, but at least they sounded clear. I'm not sure where to find the old firmware. Yup, me too. I put some homemade .wav files on after updating and they sounded clipped. I messed a...

What I want to be able to do is change keys and scales on the fly while using just intonation and other microtonal scales. I guess I have a question for you before my response - As you know, Metropolis has its own built-in quantizer in 12-TET, and has transposition, so I'm not sure where the uTune ...

However, unlike with CV destinations, I can not get a tied/sustained note via MIDI. I tried maximum gate time (tied notes with CV) and it doesn't work with MIDI. I am guessing that Pianoteq is receiving a MIDI note Off on every step, instead of the max gate overriding this. I’m pretty sure I read s...

I have been using the Komplex for just over a year with CV and it's working great. I recently updated the MIDI to 2_2 and for the first time dug into the MIDI part of this sequencer other than a cursory glance. For my first in-depth test I used Pianoteq on my Mac as the sound destination. All is goi...

Is it normal for U8/U9/U10 to run a bit warm? None of my other ICs are warm, but these three are. Not hot, by any means - I can easily leave my fingertips on them, even when the Klee has been running clocked for hours. I managed to calibrate using my TL074s, even though the slider Min values were up...

Thanks so much for your reply. I kinda figured that the negative voltages I was seeing were either 'correct' or due to me measuring incorrectly. By measuring the end of a cable from an output there were no worries - it calibrated no problem with positive voltages. Your description of the zeroing is ...

After being away & busy etc I finally finished my Klee  All works just fine (after having to reflow one of the jacks, but that's fine now). Just started building my Klee tonight :guinness: It's a SynthCube kit. All parts appear to be accounted for, but for the digital side of the board there are 25 22kOhm resistors with no references to specific slots in the PCB. By process of elimination it seems that they go into the remaining 25 res...

I will have a closer look at this. It might be a good idea to have different mapping options for CV input and midi. Some midi keyboards have a transpose function (several octaves up or down). This could help in your case, too.. I was thinking to have separate mapping options for MIDI and CV too, bu...
