Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] synthCube acquires Blacet Research

This is indeed marvelous news. John's legacy deserves to live on as does the frac format. I find the ever increasing number of euro manufacturers cramming as many knobs (or just pot shafts even) into smaller and smaller panels really annoying and I tend to find those modules unusable. That being sai...

I use one. The only criticism I have is that the mute buttons don't light up when a channel is muted.

Hi Folks, I just picked one of these up second hand along with the mutes and channels expanders. Unfortunately I am missing some of the cables so can someone please confirm for me that the expanders require their own power connections?

Cheers,

I think you'd be better off asking this in the DIY forum, the folks over there are more likely to have made their own PCBs.

My take on the Krell patch. Makenoise Function controlling Roland oscillators, filters and VCAs with an assortment of noisy randomness involving an MI Stages, MI Branches and a Korgasmatron II.

I commonly recommend the Doepfer A-154 155 combo when this question gets asked but that usually doesn't even get a response. However it is in fact deceptively flexible and the most immediate hands on sequencer you will find. If you search this forum you will read posts from many people who use it a...

Leave it at that for the moment, once you start using it you will discover what else you actually need. Having said that, I think you could probably do with a few more utility modules to glue it all together (buffered mults and attenuverters etc are invaluable). Fill the rest with blanks until you'v...

They're definitely M3 but I think they need to be slightly longer than the standard ones Doepfer use to reach the threaded strip as it sits a little further back.

Add a 530 and you'll have a mixer to bring all 3 oscillators together AND you'll be able to use the spare VCA along with the VCA on the 510 for other duties such as modulation of modulation sources.

(1) How much have you spent on your Euro-Rack to date ($k) In AUD: on euro, approx 40, on modular gear overall a touch over 75 (euro, frac and 100m). (2) Are you still happy you made the decision to get into modular? Yep. Wanted a modular synth as soon as I found out about them in my mid teens. (3) ...

The 555 looks nice. But the roland docs aren't very spec heavy, to say the least. Anyone know the lfo frequency ranges? The other ones don't go very slow. Comments on cv accuracy out of the portamento and sample and hold (ie, does it mess your pitch up?) The LFO in the 555 doesn't go any slower tha...

I have the same problem. If I go from my unity mixer straight to my audio interface, I get that whine, but if I patch the unity mixer into a mult or any other module first, the problem goes away. I had been hoping to use it to easily sum a few audio signals before the outputs, but it looks like tha...
