Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

Love the panel, well done! Just looking at the protoboard gives me a panic attack though :hihi: Packed protoboards happens when you keep being stubborn in making it into 4HP :hihi: However, it's not that hard when you plan everything, both placing and wiring, in advance on a computer. I was used to...

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

Thank you both! The bananas used on the Voltage Memory are cheap ones with a hook up wire tab, like this: https://tinyurl.com/y9ch94t8 - I used to buy big bags of multicolour nanas in that package, from eBay - they aren't great though, the threaded pillar and nut are usually not good quality. Aliexp...

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

Wow, those panels look great and they go well with the Voltage Memory. I bet they would look nice in a BugBrand system too. Thanks! Yes, that wasn't intentional actually, my Voltage Memory has been gathering dust for the last couple of years and I remembered it a couple of days ago, such a good mod...

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

This has been my lockdown project so far - there are a few more modules that didn't work out so well, and I have a new multi-function modulator in the works. Four modules are finished and two are nearly done, bottom of the rack is Voltage Memory by Meng Qi. https://electricnoodlebox.files.wordpress....

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

"Turbo" or "Pixel Turbo" is a complete portable noise box that I designed and made. I started in 2016 I think, planned to make a few, but life keeps getting in the way. This is number 5 of 10 - to get to 10 I have to make more boxes and repair some voice cards! IMG_20200301_145851.jpg Features: 2 VC...

I've had a BUSA Easel for a few months and the 218e is solid most of the time. I allow 30seconds after power on and that is fine. The two times I have had problems is once playing at a friend's house when notes starting hanging like I was using sustain - power cycle fixed that. The other time I was ...

Hiya, just a thought but the second output can be either for a sustain pedal or it can be a second mono output, there is an internal jumper switch that sets what the jack does. Is there a chance you have it set in the sustain position? Connecting it to an audio input would probably result in some od...

Thanks Dave! I slowed down on this a bit as my prototype PCBs arrived and I hadn't translated my measurements of the edge connector very well to the design - woops. I have been doing some work on the MCU however and have had good results with the ADC - I'm using a four channel 16bit ADC, and it is v...

Sweet! And the 218 behaves as expected? I wouldn't be surprised if it did, I took my Easel to the Uni I work at a few weeks ago and the 218 worked fine - almost everything else that uses capacitive touch goes haywire on the uni electrics!

Its a "passive way" to block negative voltages. When it gets late at night I plug in the 2 modulars I didn't want to think about Eurorack CV stuff hurting the e modules. I believe the FM inputs are AC, just not the banana or CV on the Buchla. 1n4733 are the zener ones I used, but someone with a bet...

I'm not sure it is exactly what you are saying here but I would say that selling / trading in my experience is the worst way to get value out of your kit. I haven't really been involved in Euro for a while but when I was, DIY modules didn't really hold any value - I still have everything I DIYed bar...

My friend's husband works at OSH Park and he was very kind to do a small batch of these PCBs for me, they should arrive pretty soon. I have decided to try the nRF52840 as the MCU which is 32bit and features BLE and some other radio capabilities. I'm getting a bit interested in wearables so I think a...

Someone on the Euro forum speculated the Verbos Complex Osc was most similar to the 208's oscillators than any other, which certainly piques my interest in a custom Easel a la Jamie Drouin. Big fan of that "dusty" Verbos CO sound. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me can clarify, but I think...

Thanks, it is super useful. As mentioned, I am interested ultimately in getting a microcontroller on a program card - I need something generic for experiments. I do want/need a 208 ToolBox ASAP of course!! I think the end goal is to have something hackable and open-source. I guess the market for peo...

The pins you have labeled as +3.3v are actually data lines. I'd avoid connecting things to them if you want things to function as expected. Also I believe pin 5 on the front row of contacts is connected to the "to card" jack to the right of the envelope follower. I don't have a multimeter on hand t...
