Thanks,
do you plan to provide schematics for those that buy PCB’s (in case I want to try to figure it out for myself)?
Cheers
Indeed, I always do!

Nice! This surely looks like an instense but great build. I wonder if/how feasible it would be to skip the controller pcb and replace it with only sound modification pots and midi trigger inputs for non-euro usage - is the routing between PCB’s clearly defined? Apologies if this doesn’t make any se...

Re: OPERA ROTAS, a DIY mutant drum machine BUILD THREAD

It’s a great idea to open source the firmware if/when you feel ready for it. That way the life of the device is extended and can continue to progress. Cheers How is the progress with the firmware? Honestly stucked. Maybe Im open sourcing it in case any other guy(s) wants to keep developing it

Looks great! Since it’s so compact and allround I guess it would be reasonably straightforward to mod this to fit in a midified standalone box if that’s your cup of tea.

Re: OPERA ROTAS, a DIY mutant drum machine BUILD THREAD

Great! I bought a partial kit a couple of weeks ago and wonder if it is possible to get hold of the firmware? Eventually I’d like to play around with it and possibly do some modifications. Cheers Yeah, you are totally right. This and a lot of other features are planned to the next firmware update.

Re: Shruthi/Shroothy SMR4 MKII v0.3 board error?

Hi, I don’t know issue but looking at the github repository the board is named to indicate that it shouldn’t be built: https://github.com/pichenettes/shruthi- ... design/pcb

Maybe you can compare the board with the latest revision to find the difference?

Wow, what an absolutely beautiful build!

BTW was it hard sourcing the components? I bought the pcb years ago and had this on my backlog ever since.

I landed on the Hammond 1550g (making it the biggest pedal I've ever seen) and a transparent sticker.

Re: OPERA ROTAS, a DIY mutant drum machine

I haven’t built mine yet, but I look forward to having access to the firmware for tinkering. A question on the low profile buttons: i guess it would be wise to replace these with some taller if making an enclosure? Not sure how to go ahead with this though since some components (eg capacitor and jum...

Re: MS20 filter circuit vs Shruthi SMR4 (lm13700 vcf minutia)

You may find some inspiration in the documentation for the heavily modified SDE edition of the SMR4 filter: http://mutable-instruments-archive.net/wiki/Shruthi-1_SDE Cheers is there any recommended way to get a highpass from this configuration? i tried some stuff on a breadboard but it seems like it...

Re: MS20 filter circuit vs Shruthi SMR4 (lm13700 vcf minutia)

You’re probably already aware, but in addition to SMR4 and other filter boards there is actually a Shruthi board LP2+Delay aka “Yellow magic” that is based on the EDIT: the same schematic as the schmitzbits ms20 filter: https://mutable-instruments.net/archive/shruthi/build/

Hi, It sure would be awesome to have a generic powerful diy polysynth platform but if you want a programmable (presets) synth with analog voicecards I don’t understand how you could avoid many more DAC channels. EDIT: Ignore the above. I didn’t read your post right. 16 channels per voice should be p...

Yes, your standard panel design looks absolutely fabulous!

I note that you’ve skipped the screw holes for the 4 stand offs that normally hold the main board. Are they not needed?

Looks neat! Depending on price, I'd be interested in a PCB with SMT parts pre-soldered.

The panel + enclosure looks way nicer than what I'd expect for a PCB panel + Hammond enclosure. So, while a custom one would be awesome, I'd also be totally happy with what you're doing now.
