191 Grayhill Switch wiring

I can't seem to wrap my thick skull around how to wire the 24 wires onto the Grayhill switch. I had a momentary "a Ha!" moment followed by "oh fuck, that's not right at all". Every photo of this switch is a pile of yellow or multi-colored spaghetti so it's impossible to use a visual guide to follow ...

So you're generating sound. Try running an LFO to trigger and probing that way. My guess is one of those transistors is the culprit - either because it got fried when some leads got bridged or because it's in there backwards. Stupid fix. I didn't reverse the 2n3904 +2n3906's and thus, transistors w...

I heard some nice sounds of yours on Instagram too :tu: I run all of this from a 1.5A PSU with no problems: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/28868_systeme_1.jpg I received the 1.5A PSU which was nice and hefty. I wired up a similar Power One supply for my MCI console [w...

thanks revok & 555x555 for your help. Got sidetracked with my Buchla 100 series builds which have thankfully been doing well. I just reflowed everything on the bottom side of both PCBs, and noticed I had bridged 3 transistors [2n3904s, subbing for bc547]. Nothing is warm to the touch, and I still he...

Is that 15V Regulator for people who power just a few? With the big 15V psu I only need the 24v for the reverb etc, right? Correct on both accounts. Modular Addict stocks a smaller PCB that has both 15v and 24v regulators. Rosch what "big" 15V PSU are you using? I have healthy number of modules, de...

Ampere settings state how much current a PSU can deliver at best - not what it pumps into a circuit. That would be voltage. So a higher ampere rated PSU will not be a problem, only higher voltage can and probably will fry your modules. Lower current would let your modules starve. Thank you! Welp, t...

158A - Electrolytics for Tantalum?

Hi Dan / et al, I am 2 56uF tantalum capacitors shy of completion of my 158A; can I temporarily [or hopefully, long term] substitute 47uF electrolytics for a couple of days to at least hear it, or will this do some damage elsewhere in the mix? It is for C5, C4 are already correctly installed as tant...

EDIT: also replaced all 2n3904s + 3906s [aka the bc547s + bc557]

The negative pin on the header marked (-) does not have any voltage.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I just got a PCB set and stuffed it with all the parts I had on hand. I temporarily subbed a TL072 instead of the LM358. I used SMD0805 components for many of the resistors where they were standing upright. I am using a B10k pot with a 7.5k resistor strapped a...

I want sequence to skip a note without emitting a pulse or voltage for that step, but continue in time. Which is how the Korg SQ-1 functions to some degree. Any ideas? I guess the thing is that the SQ-1 is digital and implementing the same behaviour with analogue electronics is a little complicated...

sines looks and sound nice! I guess you can ignore my comment about the 245. I cannot remember how that thing works  The core of the 245 is pretty similar to the 123 as far as I can see. The 245 switches are not stage select but loop boundary switches. There's one switch between each consecuti...

sines looks and sound nice! Thanks! I guess you can ignore my comment about the 245. I cannot remember how that thing works  Unfortunately, the switch would have to act like a mute, but not sure what it would mute since the next voltage stage generates 3 voltages as well, unless it made a volt...

sines Maybe have a look at the Buchla 245 schematic. I think it has a function similar to what you are after. It has 4 toggle switches for the stage select inputs, is that what you’re referring to? I’m not sure if that will work. Here’s the 123 (minus 16 Davies knobs on the way) https://vimeo.com/3...

sines I do not have a 111 handy , nor can I locate my notes on calibration. I built that module a while ago. You are right in expecting it to be easy to locate proper calibration instructions, so I apologize for not having that in order. In any case, setting up the 111 is not difficult. It seems da...

Any tips/pics re: the lamps & LDRs on the 192? Should I use heat-shrink tubing, or have you found something better? Should the lamp & LDR be touching, or how close should they be? Heat shrink is ideal. You just have to make sure that the LDR is not exposed to external light. Put them as close toget...

Wondering, is there a way to make the Postman EG loop? By feeding the Output back into the Gate input? Would love to mod this with a ON/ON/ON[?] switch to allow for this mode but not quite sure if it's possible or not. Thoughts?
