Re: EMS Synthi waiting list

Spartanite Case? I believe we were shot down on that one as far as a reproduction goes. As far as reproduction goes, I thankfully, to the world, have had a vasectomy. Anyone else here...? Hopefully? My doctor used a primitive soldering iron and electrocuted me in the worst possible exposed flesh a ...

Re: Need plain-vanilla multi-LFO for panning—most bang-for-the-buck?

^ Hard to come by and not cheap. I have one and love it. Took a while to hunt down. I also use 2 ea. Doapfer A-143-9 VC Quadrature LFO's but they take space. I just received a Doepfer A-145-4 and need to rack it. I am into a lot of very slow moving waveshapers, wave multipliers, filter sweeps, pans,...

i'm also after a transposer - if we message him there's a few of us interested he'll generally do a run of em specially to cover demand : ) yeah but he's not shipping to the USA (where Rocketdyne/Santa Susana Field Lab is) as far as I know. Just go ahead and order it. Even if it shows out of stock,...

Re: Ladik love

I see there are a bunch (13) of new modules up on Ladik's website. He says he worked the whole time the store was closed making new modules. You can always count on him to come through. Now I will be broke again. Good looking slider (stereo) mixer. Glad I bought those mono slider mixers last fall. ...

I sold way more modules than I bought this last year. But I finally stained a Doepfer case that I had sitting around, so it will be filled by the end of this new year.

Brutal equation.

No real add here but the most surprisingly mind blowing synths I had tried in a search from say 2012-2016 were (in no particular order): DSI MEK - palyed for two lunch breaks and blew my mind DSI Mopho Keys - presets even sounded good Roland SH201 - for the money a great and deep 'poly' Moog SubPhat...

Head to the Eurorack forum and check the great number of similar queries.

Also check the Erica Syntrx. Might be less money than the rig you showed.

Singing Grandfathers Tune For Mom on Xmas As He Did w/ Hal Kemp orchestra

This is my grandfather (normally the trombonist) singing a ripping standard arrangement that Hel Kemp Orchestra did. My Moms 'uncle' John Scott Trotter did the arrangement. The drummer Skinnay Ennis is the usual singer of the band but my grandfather sang this tune. On the album cover is a photo my m...

Re: Behringer Mono/Poly!

I owned an original for many years and learned the bulk of my synth knowledge from what was probably thousands of hours of noodling. I certainly can't make any definitive judgments from a few youtube videos which of course are subject to all sorts of distortions and changes from recording, renderin...

Re: PSA: Junkie XL massive 5U sale

^ I purchased a nasty rancid CSQ-600 that was covered in ciggy residue. I gave it the thrice over with some Simple Green. Did the job. Still works fine. My own disgusting dried out dermis is the real issue. Seriously. It's gross but most dust in my studio (and everywhere else) is my own dry hide. Ba...

Re: Old rackmount delays

I'm not game enough to risk using digital gear in my No Input setups as I'm concerned about levels damaging gear, and digital clipping isn't my fav type of distortion. I've been using any cheap clone pedals I've got, and an ibanez admini delay. A delay with a separate out for the effected signal wo...

edit - Nevermind - you already dumped my suggestions as too noisy. They seem quiet to my 1980's ears. Anyhoo... I would absolutely go with a Zoom 1201 or 1202. Hell, get both for less than $225.00 these days - that's what I did. They are both very deep and tweakable for budget racks. The 1201 is wei...

Re: Module combos you can't live without?

Doepfer A-183-2 Offset/Polarizer > Makenoise STO Shape Input. You HAVE to mix some +/- with your CV input into the Shape CV input to get the full range. The A-183-2 is perfect with the attenuation of your CV and mixed/added offset at 4HP. Makes this VCO huge. Such a great design in a small space wit...

For me it's not just the hardware that keeps surprising. There is so much info to share on the internet that inspires me to try new things. 20-40 years ago was a different and slower world. But even in a vacuum, electronic/modular is an endless experiment. Electronic music and synthesis in general a...

I saw Chuck break a string on his bass. Twice. Did not miss a beat either time. I have never seen another bass player ever break a string.

Two of the best bassists in any genre of music.

By specification and description I will never buy a module with description as triple wave multiplier. In fact it sounds very interesting and can vary my palette or sound a lot. Subtle (or not) changes in sound and slow sequences are like electro-meditation. Do you mean Triple Wave Shaper or Wave M...
