ATN8 hot as balls

Does the ATN8 normally produce a lot of heat? Mine is mostly working (one channel is distorted) but this little thing gets HOT HOT HOT. I noticed it does pull a lot of power, so maybe normal for that many op amps to heat up.

Anybody else notice this?

performer lots of (oled?) noise

hi!!! I've attached a clip of the noise floor of my system when the performer is plugged in, (1st half of clip) and whenm its not plugged in (2nd half of clip). Can anybody tell me what the hell I am doing wrong here? It is pretty much unbearable. https://soundcloud.com/rithma/7-audio-0002-2019-08-1...

performer hanging after startup...

Hi Everybody! So I built 3 performers, two working great, and one boots up, and rotating the encoder works, but none of the buttons (encoder or matrix) are working. Is this a "reflow the STM" situation? Anybody else experience this?

thanks!

Okay GOT IT !!!!!!!!!! Okay! I isolated the power supply from the synth, and here's the voltages I am getting. For some reason, im getting about .7v from 2 of the 5v regulators. Is this a sign that I should replace the caps or has something else gone awry? [/img] https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/12731_ex8000_pwr...

EX-8000 goofy power rails

This has been a super informative thread!!! So, I have an EX-8000 that i found at a garage sale some time ago, it powers on and sees midi... but no sound. Went through it with a volt meter and of the 3 5 volt regulators (7805) in the power supply, one outputs .5v, the other 1v... only one with a ste...

Well, the license manager hangs after I click 'purchase'.

Is there a way I could just buy a working serial from you? Or must I wait until I have a newer, fancier machine......

Looks like they're building on an already rock-solid platform. I'd love the ability to save Sampler Instruments and all their samples as their own little packages without 'collect all and save' saving the whole set. For portability reasons. At any rate, If the upgrade price stays at 200 bucks, I'll ...

I hate to be *that* guy, but could you have maybe possibly hooked up the power backwards on the non functioning VCO?

(Im ONLY asking this because I have done it... maybe 15 times... every time searching long and hard for a more complicated answer to my problem...)

What should the resistance of the FET bias trimmers in the (unpowered) circuit be? What I ended up doing was turning the trimmer counter-clockwise all the way until it started clicking, meaning its at its lower limit. Then I carefully counted the number of turns it took to twist it all the way in t...

Wow Strat, I am very happy for your success, it looks like you sold out of kit II and kit III since the 'availible' posting, which was 2 hours ago. You sold out faster than a Metallica concert in 1996. Do you plan to have more KitII delay in stock soon? btw, your Two59 is the best thing that ever ha...

Silent Way and older OS X

I have a MOTU ultralight, Ableton Live, and OS X 10.8.5.

The demo of silent way is AMAZING. I want to buy it. I think the website said OS X 10.9 was required, but it seems to work fine on my system.

Is there a reason not to purchase if I am on OSX 10.8.5 ?

This is a wonderful and informative thread. Got It!!!
After building the troubleshioting wiring harness, and an hour of poking around, i found 1 bad joint (missing square wave) and one backwards JFET(bad sine wave). All works now! Chubby sine waves all around.

Thank sweet baby jeesus for sockets.
