Malekko Varigate 8+ -- Can it receive irregular clock pulses?

I'm looking to pick up the Malekko Varigate 8+, but I'm wondering how well it will handle irregular clock pulses? That is that if I sent it triggers that are not evenly spaced (locked to a bpm), but fluctuating, will it respond steadily? Imagine a clock being modulating in time either subtly or dras...

Re: The Elektron Model:Cycles Thread

I just received mine, and I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. Does anyone else find the output volume to be pretty low? Maybe I've just lost a lot of my hearing... I had really high expectations for this -- and I might just need to give it some time -- but I'm considering putting it up on the BS...

Re: Make Noise 0-Ctrl

I really want this in my case. Having all the tactile control right there means it will feel more like a part of my system and ultimately get used more. I just bought this adapter off of Ebay. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/ccgAAOSwy2pbptbN/s-l1600.jpg I will put a 3hp blank next to it committing 4...

Currently trying one out with twin-mono parametric EQ in front - lots of fun!
Woah, nice!

Can you share some photos of the prototype?

Also, just got your email. Thanks!

Re: Recommend Hardware Compressor

Before you buy anything, try running the DRM 1 into the Rytm. It's external input goes through the master compressor and (I think) the master distortion This is a great tip. Although TBH I kind of hate the compressor on the Rytm, but that's only because I haven't really grasped how to get the most ...

i thought the heat can act as a compressor and its very colorful. I went the pedal route: suonobuono nabc. its more of a rhythmic shaping tool and very clean. maybe this is for you FMR Audio RNLA 7239 check out the gearslutz thread about pedal compressors. some interessting recomendations there. Recommend Hardware Compressor

I realize that my productions could really benefit from a hardware compressor. I've held out for so long getting by with software, but I'm realizing I would really enjoy working with a simple hardware compressor instead. Here's a quick list of my current set-up: Vermona DRM-1 MKIII Elektron Analog R...

Re: Thunderbolt 3 to midi (or maybe usb to midi) device?

I have a new MBP with Thunderbolt 3 bolt ports and I can't seem to find a device that takes Thunderbolt 3 bolt and connects to MIDI out. Does this exist? I guess a USB (with adapter uggh) to MIDI cable might work, but I'm weary of latency / jitter. My audio interface is a UA Arrow that doesn't have...

Re: Help me create this style of bass lines.

To be clear, the bass line starts at :26 and it sounds like a typical "Roland" sound. Play with envelope shapes and EQ. It's more about how it sits in the mix than some complex synthesis... It's a super basic patch, but again it's about how it sits in the mix. That vibrasphere tracks is... really ov...

Re: Make Noise 0-Ctrl

It took me two+ years to stop calling the 0-coast an "oh coast" (which is weird I'd even call it that since it's a pet peeve of mine that "0" is "zero" not "oh") after hearing everyone call it "no coast" and now I see 0-CTRL URL on the Make Noise website is "ohctrl" (http://makenoisemusic.com/synth...

Re: Something new from Make Noise coming?

First post - glad to finally join! I’ve got really mixed feelings on this. I’ve got an 0-coast and love the form factor. I also really like the idea of having more expressive control in modular. I don’t mind that’s it’s standalone but the option to rack it like a M32 or DFAM would have been cool an...

Shocked that the stages aren't CV addressable or CV in for transposition. That's something I had wanted on the PP/Brains in the past.
but you could easily patch that yourself... this is a modular system after-all

Re: Something new from Make Noise coming?

Erbe Verb 2 with stereo input would make a lot of sense as they are headed towards more stereo paths. The touchplate could be a "freeze" button or latch like on the Echophon or the stock Ableton reverb. If this is housed in it's own enclosure like the 0-coast, I would snap one up instantly. I defini...

Re: Why is some techno good and some bad?

Good music v. Bad music (outside of technical nerdery like prog rock) is all about FEELING... it's the intangible 'je sais que' That's why it's so hard to achieve and define. It comes from a place inside of the person making the music that isn't something you can study. It comes from either years of...

So I can't seem to save changes to a sequence with a patch. Does anyone else have this issue? Maybe I'm doing this wrong, but when I make edits to a sequence and save the patch, only the synthesis part of the patch gets saved (not the sequence). I tried this with and without the 'seq lock' button ac...
