I know this is an older thread but I am glad I discovered it. I want to do exactly this for some panels using the aluminum material from PCBway. The panels and advice here is excellent. I was not sure if the fabricator can do rectangular holes but to my delight, I saw the panel by Morphology and it ...

There is no alternative to that pot that has a smaller footprint in height? There are probably alternatives like using the NKK Miniature rotaries or even doing some redesign and using a solid state 4:1 multiplexers from Maxim IC but this would of course require a PCB re-spin. Sorry that you have to...

Yes, I see. This was documented in the generalized build notes that were posted. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/1296_jacks_installment_1.jpg This procedure will allow all the jacks to fall flush with the front panel and provide support, as well as allowing the jack barrel to protrude out...

Cool! The Euro guys will be happy (as if I'm not one of them grin but I still have to finish the one from last fall) Thanks. Some folks who have built the board and have not committed to an enclosure may want to use the appendage euro adapter kit to put in a Euro Skiff. I believe the thing with som...

The footprint on the PCB is a 1206. The capacitor below is the one used on the prototype. I double checked this on my build so this information is correct.

Very nice work, especially offering the option of SMT, DIP or discrete matching transistor pairs. Thanks. I have the TEMCO in the area of all three options and don't really think it needs to be in contact with the transistor pairs. Things stay pretty much the same temperature and the VCO is stable ...

One other PCB feature I wanted to point out was the location of the four trimmer potentiometers used during calibration. The location will make it easy for anyone to perform the calibration on the module by just moving the module slightly forward in your case making the adjustment pots quite accessi...

we're not planning on offering a PCB with all of the SMT parts soldered (yet) but if there's a modest amount of interest we could do so Just to add, In this PCB design, I had made an effort to only use resistors and capacitors with dimensions no smaller then 0805. You will be surprised at how easy ...
