Re: 2 rooms of synths, how to connect it up?

If you are only trying to get audio from one room to another and trying to avoid a secondary audio interface, running audio cables and audio patchbays might be the simplest and cheapest solution. Run a snake between the two rooms and use the patchbay to connect devices to your audio interface as nee...

Re: What are your goals when it comes to modular synthesis?

Primarily it is like my other musical adventures, a way to relieve stress. Just experimenting with modular sound design is a welcome break from my otherwise organized and sometimes overwhelming life. In the end I do like to finish compositions involving the modular but the end is rarely as enjoyable...

Simple is a relative term. While not simple in terms of cost or space, the KOMA Komplex has just what you are looking for and a lot more.

[ In short, can someone point me toward a good ADSR x 4 envelope generator? Is something like the Xaos devices 4 envelope generator worth it? Something like the Intellijel Quadrax seems like its there. Maths?, but it is not really 4 channels. Tides...Aren't all of these versions of one another. Quad...

Absolutely not. I love the ARP 2600 but I could never justify that price. I think the most I'd spend for a single synth is about $5K. It took me awhile to justify spending $4K on a Quantum but I don't regret it one bit. I guess at this point I'm more focused on an early retirement and every $ I can ...

I can be pretty wild and crazy, but this is going to an extreme... I actually added a line in my budget labeled "Music Toys" and put a dollar amount per paycheck that I put into that part of my budget. When I can afford something, I have the cash. I know, crazy, right ;) Hey, I even sometimes "stea...

In an ideal world, I'd go 5U simply for the ergonomics. But I have limited space and a somewhat limited budget so eurorack gets me more for less.

Since the ES-5 Controller is license free and there are Max 4 Live devices for using the ES-5, just take the time to create your own device using one of those with CV Tools. Then, save it as a template so you don't have to go through the trouble the next time you want to do it. I have a couple dozen...

At the moment I have an RME Fireface 802 set up with ableton on a PC and hanging off the ADAT of that a Ferrofish expander. I'd like to be able to use the new ableton live 10.1 CV tools for my semi modular (and future eurorack) and silent way stuff for CV, but don't know if it's possible to add ano...

if you can only get 5 different sounds with that many knobs and CV inputs perhaps there is a user error?

I don't think Elements is for everyone but I absolutely love the sounds I can get out of it. [/quote]

Very subjective. I've used a bunch a still have a few. My favorite is probably the KOMA Komplex. It's OTB but has a ton of patch points and immediate access to 4 sequencers without any menu screens. I also use Eloquencer a lot. After that I've got Circadian Rhythms, Trigger Riot, Rene and Pressure P...

I try to keep my system manageable based on ergonomics. I don't want to do a lot of walking around or over reaching just to change a patch. If you are dead set on selling it, unless you part it out you are going to take a huge hit. Nobody is going to want the exact system you have. Systems are just too personnel. They are only going to buy the whole system with the intention of selling some of those parts. Without a significant discount...
