Re: Rack Rash

I would be worried about rashes and fingerprints if I didn’t live in a dust factory. :waah:

Re: Make Noise QPAS

I recently bought a Tempi -- and using Walker's QPAS Tempi video as my inspiration, realized the combo (again, bc of all the inputs) turns the QPAS into an instant beat machine. The idea that you can get all those percussive sounds out of two modules (that, aren't dedicated percussion modules, mind...

Re: What is the most interesting sound you've sampled into Morphagene?

The best results I’ve got have come from accapella choir recordings. However, that’s probably not so surprising a source to use.

Re: Make Noise QPAS

I do get some fun sounds out of it beyond traditional filtering but the Q is something I'm never able to control how I want. I’m constantly surprised by how musical the Q is, the ringing frequencies I get with LFOs and gated modulations end up being more melodic than whatever sequence I have create...

Re: Creative/Utilitarian Percussion Patching Techniques?

If you have a bunch of tempo related gates (I’m getting these mostly from a Make Noise Tempi) then try multing and pluging them into inputs anywhere and everywhere to see what works. Hard shifts in voltage can make some CV inputs react percussively without the need for much more.

Re: Patching natural sounds

When patching natural sounds I get the most physically rich results when the envelopes modulate practically every parameter to a large or small degree, then it’s a matter of how much you attenuate, offset, invert, slew and fine tune it.

Re: What new booty did you buy?

I just ordered this 104hp Make Noise skiff from Found Sound. :omg: It’s to supplement my existing set up rather than intended to be a stand alone system (although with the Kermit acting as an oscillator it sort of could act as a strangely focused stand alone). I’m excited for all the switching and c...

Cool! :sb: I'd like to hear it on string-pad chords if at all possible and to see how intelligible it can get with words. :hyper:

Thank-you! The sounds are from a Yamaha RS-7000 production/workstation thing. The synthesis in it is pretty standard for late 90's style digital stuff but I'm using it because I like the workflow and I'll be away from my modular for quite sometime. Like you I dig a lot of those metallic and glassy s...
