Re: So, I accidentally bought a FR Orb
Great sequencer. I have a Revolution v1 with the battery problem and an Orb at one point. It was a sweet little sequencer and wish I had one now for my 200e since it can be loaded with two sets of firmware for 16X16 sequence times 2.

Re: JHS pedals : Clover & Double Barrel
I still don’t drink Coors beer. I also stopped buying ULine products. There are clearly alternatives if a company’s ownership’s personal values disgust you. In this case JHS appears a smart personable enough guy who would do us all a favor by addressing this issue openly within the community of arti...

Re: Empress Zoia or Poly Beebo, any tips?
Quad does it for me. I run my Buchla thru the Poly now and then out to a pair of Eventide Space. The flexible routing on the poly is on the fly great plus there are at least 500 preset capacity so saving versions of effects feels endless.

Re: Hammond organ foot pedal controller conversion
Cool. I had a BV organ with a complete set of pedals, bench and Leslie251. Organ is gone but those pedals were dangerous. The metal contact strips were sharp. Gotta watch out. Also very heavy and bulky. Be careful.

Re: Fender Jazzmaster - Avice for first time buyer
I suggest finding a used AVRI 62 reissue - these went out of production around 2016 and were replaced with the current American Vintage series, but are built with much better wood and build quality IMHO. They can be found used every now and again with a Mastery Bridge and Vibrato which I strongly re...

Re: Phish
I was hyper aware of Jerry’s drug abuse beginning with his bust in his Beamer in Golden Gate Park in 79. I actually walked out of my last Dead concert in ‘82 at the Berkeley Greek Theater mid show because it was clear Garcia was too stoned to play, his voice was fried, he looked terrible and his pla...

Ugh all I can say is Ugh. Phish are for the Millenials that were too young and completely missed the pre-1980 pre-arena era Grateful Dead. I am pretty sick of the Dead myself but Phish! I seen the Dead 💀 exactly 30 times between 74 and 82. Went to Jerry’s funeral on the Polo Grounds in SF and caught...

I picked up a Buchla 200e a decade ago because of the history, art and vision of Don manifested in his last great electric music box. I still have 95% of the Curtis Street 18 system that was later converted by Don/Joel to a 24. I second praise for Doug's contributions to the ecosystem. Laying off of...

i had the Dunlop (cheap and good pan effect) and now have the Stereo SupaTrem. Mike Fuller is a dick on so many levels but his stuff works. For mono the Empress is also great. I also have a goat keeper that I very much love.

Well given the electro music site Roman clones et al, this group should be the last to throw stones at a builder at this point. Let Ezra or BUSA follow up on any IP issues. I say if Findlay is so motivated so be it. Regarding design police - ha! It’s a free country in principal. Go for it man.

Re: Why buy used at recent market prices?
Reverb has been terrible lately. I was in the market for a Shure mic that is $399 new and all the used mics were selling at $360-450! Plus you have taxes and shipping on top. You can usually get what you want with an offer including ship at 70-80% new but you have to be patient. There used to be an ...
