Re: Any justification for waldorf blofeld in this day and age?

If you use an editor for the bulk of your programming the encoders will last much longer.

Re: Any justification for waldorf blofeld in this day and age?

I think the feature set is close to ideal but there’s something about the sound I didn’t like so much. The more I used it the less I I liked it. I run everything straight into my daw. It sounds quite clean. The person I sold the Blofeld to had an old low end mixer that made the Blofeld sound dirty b...

Blacet 2070 envelope times

Something that’s always bugged me about my 2070 envelopes is that they are on completely different timings. Attack, decay and release can go far shorter on one than the other, so much so that it’s like they have different timebase settings.
Is it possible to match them up ?

Blacet ring mod functions

I bought a second hand Blacet ring mod and it came with switch position 3 not doing anything. The previous owner says it is broken. I have gave it to some one to fix and it would be handy to know what position 3 on the switch is supposed to do. Do any of you guys know what it does ?

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] synthCube acquires Blacet Research

Please try to keep the frac format going. The Blacet modules make a great system to work with. I think keeping the Blacet modules in production as the core of the system but adding some more contemporary kinds of modules with panel layouts to match the Blacet modules would be a good idea. That way c...

Whats with the tmebase settings ?
I’m thinking x2 would be more useful than x5 and x50 is a bit much. What am I missing ?
I know the 2070 can go for hours but does anyone actually use those settings ?

I’ve been working in older versions of Samplitude (up to pro x2) where if you set a loop or range USAMO would stop transmitting MIDI clock at the loop/range end point. I’d like to report that USAMO works properly in the current version of Samplitude (pro x3). The USAMO plug in now continues to send ...

I had thought about connecting a mixer output to the Usamo Jack input, the Usamo midi clock would send it to Roland Octa Capture to synchronize Ableton to the audio signal received from the mixer. Is this configuration possible? No, that will not work. You’d want a Universal Sample Accurate Input f...

SBM and dual vca arrived yesterday.

The SBM is great. I’m surprised a bigger deal isn’t made about it. Every Frac rack should have at least one.

I diyed two based on fonitroniks attenuverting mixer, just using perf board http://www.modular.fonik.de/pdf/f-mixer-rev2.pdf I like the multifunctionality of them. Blacet should probably re-do the Mixer Processor in 1.5" module. Great idea!! ..although the SBM has two inverters: one on mixer, one o...

There's no dedicated attenuverters that I'm aware of; they're all built into other signal processing modules. Well I guess that explains why modular grid didn’t come up with anything. Personally, I use the recently discontinued Blacet Mixer/Processor, . I didn’t know the Mixer/ processor could inve...

Any Attenuverters/Polarizers in frac ?

Modular grid and the mighty Google don’t seem much help on this.
Surely there must be attenuverters/polarizers in frac ?
What are you guys using ?

Just get something like palmer daccapo reamping box.
ideally you want to go synth > reamping box > effect >and sometimes d.i or preamp.
You get a wider range of usable sounds using a reamping box than going straight in with volume down.

Aye, I quite often have the 1v/oct inputs on vco and filter both connected to the sequencer. The oscs always get 100% 1v/oct but I vary the amount going to the filter depending on the patch. I found this thread https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=97553&sid=f87d2944ec458cad9d07d3a4a92ea...

Re: Should my filters cv inputs be 5v or 10v ?

How often does one want to use a square wave to fully open/fully close a filter? Seems to be a pretty strange situation. Fully open - not very often. Fully closed - quite often, open past 50% - quite often and going from fully closed to partially open quite often. But if you did want to do that, yo...

On the Blacet EG1, there is an internal trimmer to set the maximum envelope. Thus, you could set this at 5V. Or use the Level Pot on the EG. If I set the eg1 internal trimmer to 5v then I won’t be able to open my quadmix vca and dual linear vca past 50%. I have two eg1’s. When I have one controllin...

Re: Should my filters cv inputs be 5v or 10v ?

What CV inputs do you have on your COTA? I don't believe I've seen a Frac one, but most others have a 1V/Oct input and then another input with a built-in attenuator. It’s the same as the 5u COTA only smaller. It has 1v/oct and two other cv inputs with built in attenuators. The cv inputs can be set f...
