Re: Arturia PolyMatrix / PolyBrute coming?

Polybrute makes a winning case for sound designers, or maybe rather 'people who want more than just another poly synth'. NI's Absynth was the first 'standalone' VST I bought, back in the day, for strictly sound-design/soundscapes: It offered a huge potential even with only a few modules combined. T...

Re: Anyone still using a hardware sampler?

I’d love a eurorack module of the 3000 series akai filter - it was the sound of the mid to late 90s. An in/out with a knob for cutoff and a knob for resonance 0-15 (with the zipper noise) plus cv control of both. That would be great. Isn´t the ALM MUM M8 close enough for you? I know it´s the S950 f...

Re: Para or Poly synth to compliment Euro set up...OB6, Pro 3, P12 experience?

The only problems I see with the paraphonic mode of the Pro-3 are the reduction of the voice count (compared with the Pro-2) and that if you are looking for "coherent" chords (that means same/similar sound of the 3 notes) you are limited to the most basic waves, that is what the analog oscillators c...

Matriarch? will cover pretty well the paraphonic needs, sounds amazing, integrate wonderfully with your existing eurorack stuff

Re: Behringer Pro 800, Prophet 600 clone

I see B added noise and probably other odds and ends I've not spotted so that's a plus. Wonder if to duplicate the original sound they will go for the relatively low number of values the parameters had and the software generated straight linear envelopes without many possible values. I would think ...

Re: Dave Smith hint of a new synth coming up in August

I remember seeing the CS1x when it came out, and fell in love with its looks. Shame about the sounds though I had the CS1x and the CS2x and thought both sounded good. Gave the 2x away a year ago to someone who was buying another unit from me because I lost the power supply. I thought it looked crac...

Re: Arturia PolyMatrix / PolyBrute coming?

Well, I was watching all PolyBrute videos and I don't like how it sounds in practically any of them, quite the opposite of the Super 6, which I liked in all the ones I've seen. The same thing happened to me with the Medusa. It is more than a coincidence that an instrument you do not like in any vid...

Re: Arturia PolyMatrix / PolyBrute coming?

it can do complex sounds for sure, but so can the Rev2 and offers more voices for less money...and to my years the Rev2 sounds better Pretty sure the rev2 doesn’t have wavefolders after the oscillators, a second filter and a bunch of badass performance controls. Why the comparison with the rev2 and...

Re: Arturia PolyMatrix / PolyBrute coming?

The morph stuff is really cool. But am I understanding this correctly?: Morph is in bi-timbral mode, right? So that seems to leave us with a whooping three (3) voices. The morph thing isn't crossfading between voices, it's interpolating all the parameters... so unless I missed something somewhere, ...

anyway, I still preffer the Super 6 as a poly for its audio quality...for me it´s hard to beat and it can do a lot of complex stuff too with a more direct interface
