Re: Recommendations for wall mounting synths

Not sure I go so far as calling this a recommendation. But this is how I ended doing it. wallrails.jpg Mounted wall rails on all four walls with the intention to use standard brackets with my keyboards. Plan where to angle the keys by simply build up the shelf on the rear. That idea proved to be my ...

Re: Four records that changed your life.

Started my music jurney listening to british rock bands like Queen, Sabbath, Purple, Zeppelin, Sweet, Slade, Nazareth, J Priest. Funny thing where when Queen stated on the record cover No synthesizer used on this record we kids misunderstood the meaning and took it as a call to hate all music using ...

Also worth taking notice of are that XLR connector do not always imply balanced signal where intended. I have a few vintage pieces where the XLR connector seem to be implemented only for the locking function and professional look.

Re: Which Sequencers Have This Feature?

Hi. I have a Beaststep Pro which I like and dislike for a variety of reasons, but one of the best things about it is this: When editing the pitch of a step while the sequence is stopped, the BSP plays the note whenever you turn the knob, giving you audible feedback as to what note you have entered ...

Not being able to bend the connector sleeve would it not make more sense to measure actual cable?

Re: Background electric noise problem

If you buy a PSU with certification it only applies to that product as sold, not to anything it is connected to. If somebody sells a synth, case, laptop or whatever with an external bought in PSU that is a new product that requires retesting and certification. You can't inherit the certification of...

Re: Background electric noise problem

I think problems arise from certification has be be done with an given PSU with secondary guaranteed to be insulated from mains. And with a power brick this can't be done. Switch mode PSUs still have mains transformers that have to be insulated. They are just not so noticeable because they work at ...

Rails are not designed to be electrically conductive. Surface treatment of rails and faceplate most often isolate them.

Re: 2 to 1 mixer modules?

Well technically you still can use passive. But you need a 10k to 47k resistor on each of the cables or jack inputs on the passive mult.

Edit: Search passive mixer https://duckduckgo.com/?q=passive+mixer

Re: Background electric noise problem

Correct grounding can never be achieved using an external brick and a dc barrel jack. That is why if you see a dc jack on the outside it doesn't matter what is on the inside, it's just not going to do the job properly. Is a secondary mains plug with only GND wired an effective work-around? (Given t...

Building guitar stomp boxes a decade earlier the transition to build eurorack modules seems rather seemless. But as with my effect units missing nice enclosure and faceplates made them live in the backlog drawer s where I also have TTSHv1 and ASM2. But I guess it all started with Moogerfooger 101 fi...

:tu: this is a far too often overlooked feature. Yes one can mult and make similar functionality but the simple fact one don't have to work as an open invitation to patch input one else wouldn't bother to explore.
