Re: ACL Sinfonion
Hi guys, the manual is a bit unclear here: the dongle is actually not shipped with the Sinfonion. Nobody has got it. It's actually still not deliverable. ACL works on it. I hope it will be available soon. Aren't this dongle more a strategy to simplify manufacturing? Can't a simple 3€ serial program...

Re: Please, stop octave left hand playing without purpose
Somewhat related to OP. Saw an interview with drummer Simon Phillips where he makes a point of he never play his bass drum simultaneous with toms. A trick he picked up watching engineers trying to clear up muddy sound in post production. Somewhat similar but for a different reason drum style Charlie...

Re: Rich, expansive sounding synth
That's what make the Super 6 so intriguing to me. This spaces sound are created at the oscillator, — then going through dual analog subtractive synthesis path for a true stereo synth.

Re: Pairing 2 modules for stereo use question
Modern component values are most often within 1% for resistors and 10% for caps. I don't know if there are any manufacturers that pair components for dual packaging hence that this tolerance is to be expected for near all purchases. I believe for the infamous Pultec style EQ when calibrated and matc...

Re: Rich, expansive sounding synth
What's a rich, expansive sounding poly synth I can buy new? The description 'fat' I find too 'Yo', but that is what I mean. I've played with OB-XA's in the past and tried an OB-6 a couple o days ago, while it is great in it's own right, I am still disappointed that newer synths do not seem to be ab...

Re: New gear from Behringer, what would you like to see happen.?
I saw a video or read somewhere that the DX programmer aren't really are real time programmer and therefore not as usefull as some would like. I guess it share the limitation as with many of the older synthesizers where parameters aren't changed until next key press.

Re: Recommendations for wall mounting synths
Not sure I go so far as calling this a recommendation. But this is how I ended doing it. wallrails.jpg Mounted wall rails on all four walls with the intention to use standard brackets with my keyboards. Plan where to angle the keys by simply build up the shelf on the rear. That idea proved to be my ...

Also worth taking notice of are that XLR connector do not always imply balanced signal where intended. I have a few vintage pieces where the XLR connector seem to be implemented only for the locking function and professional look.

Re: Which Sequencers Have This Feature?
Hi. I have a Beaststep Pro which I like and dislike for a variety of reasons, but one of the best things about it is this: When editing the pitch of a step while the sequence is stopped, the BSP plays the note whenever you turn the knob, giving you audible feedback as to what note you have entered ...

Re: Background electric noise problem
If you buy a PSU with certification it only applies to that product as sold, not to anything it is connected to. If somebody sells a synth, case, laptop or whatever with an external bought in PSU that is a new product that requires retesting and certification. You can't inherit the certification of...

I think problems arise from certification has be be done with an given PSU with secondary guaranteed to be insulated from mains. And with a power brick this can't be done. Switch mode PSUs still have mains transformers that have to be insulated. They are just not so noticeable because they work at ...

Rails are not designed to be electrically conductive. Surface treatment of rails and faceplate most often isolate them.

Well technically you still can use passive. But you need a 10k to 47k resistor on each of the cables or jack inputs on the passive mult.

Re: Background electric noise problem
Correct grounding can never be achieved using an external brick and a dc barrel jack. That is why if you see a dc jack on the outside it doesn't matter what is on the inside, it's just not going to do the job properly. Is a secondary mains plug with only GND wired an effective work-around? (Given t...
