For live occasions (when you want just to carry a small modular system) this is so optimal (&temptating) module.
And two of them fit in a nice little 19"-rack! :goo:

IMHO this particular cabinet seems saturated in many respects.
I like the "heavy industries" look somehow but it certainly wouldn't suit me for gigging. I wouldn't want to lift it.
And the long Dizzys in my 20U cases are doing fine.

Hi Tony, thanks a lot for that!
Potential issues are clearer now.
Only that I went down the single-psu-road a long time ago.
But will rethink for the new cabinets. :hmm:

general Q: 0V reference, connecting PSUs & Crosstalk

Hi Tony, on fb you mentioned crosstalk in conjunction with 0V-reference and connecting PSUs via weak connectors: The problem is not so much of maximum current capability but of resistance, which is essentially determined by the available contact area. The larger the resistance the greater the voltag...

Re: New module: Dual VCA-X

New VCA module and VC-Mixer based on the V2164 IC. Lower noise and CV breakthrough than the existing cascaded LM13700 design. The module is functionally similar to the old one but has exponential and linear CV responses instead of the AC/DC switch. The board is four layer which means I could make i...

The caps look a bit bulged although the shop description says it's flat.

There are also occasional projects either rebuilding or converting 3U modules to 5U. This makes sense since there are sound synthesis methods which simply can't be achieved with pure analogue technology. FWIW I too prefer to stay analogue. That said any synthesis algorithm involving sound storage ca...

The biggest problem is that Alpha pots and Omeg pots do not have the same footprint. The three pins are the same spacing but they are not in the same place with regards to the front of the pot. I'm following your advice, mounting the Alpha pot body turned downside up (i.e. by 180°) and wire the pin...

Thanks Tony, that fits my picture.
I don't think I'll change anything soon, I never had a problem with that and as mentioned,
this was a test situation with extreme settings.
It's still my favourite LFO, BTW - the 'simple' it is! ;)

Little/Triple LFO crosstalk

Hi, rather an observation and looking for an opinion: Just today (and it took more than a decade to stumble upon this) I noticed some crosstalk between the outputs of the Triple LFO in my system. The situation was rather extreme and popped up during testing the Lin FM input of a 3rd-party VCO. This ...

going flat

Hi Tony! Sure, this kind of setup is prone to expose any pitch changes. That was just for testing after running a more "traditional" patch and noticing the pitch going flat. Aynway, I'm not concerned about my S&H, maybe I'll upgrade at some point, but I'm fine. And having some "benchmark statement" ...

One problem I've had with the Arduino flashing on this project is that if I've had my AVRdude plugges in for a few minutes, Arduino wont communicate with my chip.
